The annual Zona Rosa Arts Festival, September 13-15, 2013, is a juried fine arts festival sponsored by Zona Rosa. The three day festival is free for the public to attend and features the talents of qualifying national and regional artists along with live musical performances at Town Square.
The festival takes place in Zona Rosa, a dynamic shopping, dining, and entertainment district located just minutes from downtown Kansas City and Kansas City International Airport. Zona Rosa is a new urban retail development that opened in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri in May, 2004. Zona Rosa is a mixed-use development, combining retail, restaurant and entertainment venues, along with office space and residential lofts and luxury apartments. The open-air, pedestrian-friendly center features a town square, children’s park and fountains, all designed to make Zona Rosa the premier shopping, dining and gathering spot for the local community.
All artists must apply on ZAPP by 11:59 p.m. central time on Thursday, July 5, 2013. A separate application, images and $40 NON-REFUNDABLE jury fee must be submitted for each category that an individual artist enters. Only one application may be submitted per body of work represented. Multiple applications must represent either work in different media categories or distinctly separate bodies of work within one category. A collaborative team producing a single product may qualify as a single exhibitor. Artists must use a separate and distinct profile to apply in multiple categories. Work to be exhibited must be represented in your jury images.
Applicants must submit a minimum of three images of recent art work and one image of your booth display (including tent). Price and size of the depicted works should be included. The booth image (constructed tent & exhibit) is mandatory. The purpose of the booth image is to ensure the artist has a complete body of work, which is represented both in the first three images and also within image #4. It also helps identify the scale of the artist's work. Note: this is a blind jury process; please avoid submitting booth images with any identifiable sign, or photo of the artist themselves. All images must be digital: high resolution images, at least 1920x1920 pixels (.jpeg format). For more information access www.zapplication.org/imaging_tips.phtml
Exhibitors will be chosen by a jury that includes art professionals as well as representatives from Zona Rosa. Jurying will take place after July 5, 2013 and applicants will be notified via email by July 15, 2013. Once an artist has been invited into the show, a $300 booth fee must be paid by August 12, 2013. Failure to respond by the deadline may result in revocation of the invitation. Booth fees will not be refunded due to artist cancellation after August 12, 2013.
