ZAPP™ Announces Artist Advisory Committee
May 02, 2007 03:51PM
The ZAPP™ partners and management team have formed a ZAPP™ Artist Advisory Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to ensure that the ZAPP™ project continues to be of service to artists, and that artists engaged in art-shows have a voice in the development of the ZAPP™ system.

Six artists have been invited to join the Committee. Each artist is a ZAPP™ user, possesses a strong knowledge of the profession, and is committed to the art show field. These artists will meet twice a year to discuss software updates, system usability, and professional development needs. The input of the Artist Advisory Committee will help shape the ZAPP™ system to serve artists well for many years to come. The ZAPP™ partners, management team, and staff look forward to working with this new committee.

The 2007 Artist Advisory Committee Members are:

Marvin Blackmore, Colorado, Ceramics
Michael Brown, Illinois, Photographer
Joe DeCamillis, Alabama, Mixed Media
Audrey Heller, California, Photographer
Kim Koch, Wisconsin, Jeweler
Sarah Rishel, Georgia, Printmaker

The ZAPP™ management is also pleased to announce that Missouri artist Deanna Henion has joined the ZAPP™ business committee. In that capacity, Ms. Henion will work with ZAPP™ business board members Beth Hoffman and Anthony Radich to oversee the business and long-term business-strategy aspects of the ZAPP™ project.

If you are interested in sharing your thoughts with the artist advisory committee, please email your suggestions to ContactZAPP@westaf.org. Committee members and the ZAPP™ staff will monitor this forum.

I'm glad to hear that there are some artists that will be involved with Zapp. So far I have wasted time and money on Zapp without one ounce of help or answers from promoters or anyone else for that matter. What a terribly impersonal endeavor this has become.

It would be nice if there was an artist promoter or consultant that I could hire to help me in this process. Zapp is for the promoter and the judges only, it removes the artist completely. We pay and we receive nothing.

At this point I'm pretty sick and tired of Zapp to say the least.

I would be interested to find out how the artists above were chosen just out of curiosity. I don't know them so this is again an impersonal and totally impartial question Lois

I am surprised that Larry Berman did not make that cut. He has been one of the most or only useful people I have come in internet contact with during my past two years of doing festivals. He has extensive knowledge of not only art festivals but zapplications as well. ( I am hoping he just turned down the opportunity rather then not being offered it)
