4 Actions to Successfully Manage Your ZAPP Account

Dear ZAPP™ Artists,

There are four specific actions to aid you in successfully managing your ZAPP™ applications to shows and festivals.

1. Frequently Review Your Application Status
Review the My ZAPPlications table frequently to check the status of your applications. The status of your application may dictate a quick response to an event. Here are definitions of the application statuses you may see:

Started: You have begun the application but you have not completed it. The show is not made aware of this status. You may opt to not complete the application anonymously.

Ready for Submission: You have completed the application and are ready to submit and pay for your application. The show is not made aware of this status. You may opt to not complete the application anonymously.

Received: You have submitted your application to the show and the show has successfully received your application. The show can see your application at this status, or any of the following statuses.

Incomplete: The show has reviewed your application but they would like you to edit the application and resubmit it. Contact the show directly for further instruction.

Exception: The show is allowing you to edit your application after the deadline. You must edit and complete the application by the deadline provided by the show.

Jury In Progress: The show to which you have applied is currently reviewing applications. Typically this status begins before the jury convenes and it stays in this status for a time after the jury has convened. After the show has analyzed the scores and made selections this status changes.

Invited: The jury has selected you to participate in the event. You must Accept or Decline this invitation on ZAPP™.

Not Invited: The jury did not select you to participate in the show.

Waitlist: The jury has placed you on a waitlist for participation in the show. Some shows will display your placement in the waitlist as part of this status.

Accepted: If you were Invited to a show and you accepted the invitation on ZAPP™, the show understands that you want to participate in the event.

Confirmed: After you purchased your booth and other items, the show understands that you are ready to participate in the event.

2. Take Action!
Some application statuses require that you take action. Required actions are listed in the Options column of the My ZAPPlication table. Here are the possible actions you will need to take:

Accept or Decline: If you are invited to participate in a show, you want to accept or decline the invitation by the deadline set by the event. Click Accept or Decline. ZAPP™ will ask you if you want to participate in this event. Click Accept to communicate to the show that you will participate in the event. Click Decline if you are unable to attend the event.

Purchases: After you accept an invitation to participate in an event, you may have the option to purchase your booth and other exhibit products. The event will have communicated to you if you must purchase your booth through ZAPP™. Click Purchases and buy your booth before the deadline set by the event.

Archive: If you have not been invited to participate in a show, or the show has passed, you may archive the application. ZAPP™ recommends that you archive applications in order to keep the My ZAPPlication table active and easily manageable. Click Archive. ZAPP™ will ask you if you are certain you want to archive the application. Click Yes, Archive it! The application will no longer be viewed from the My ZAPPlication table. Archived applications are available for review at any time from the View Archives link found directly beneath the My ZAPPlication table. Applications that are still being managed by shows do not have the option to archive. Archiving will also release images for you to modify or delete as long as they are not actively being used in other applications.

3. Frequently Review Show Information and E-mails
Events provide important date and policy information on ZAPP™. Review application-deadline dates and show policies for each event to which you apply. These dates are also provided to you in ZAPP™’s weekly show-announcement e-mail. It is important that you do not block event e-mails or ZAPP™ e-mails. Check your spam-blocking software and allow event and ZAPP™ e-mails to arrive in your in-box. You may have to check your spam quarantine.

Events will communicate your application results to you via e-mail. If you application status is Incomplete, the show will send you an e-mail describing your application status and instructions to edit and resubmit your application. Jury results are communicated via e-mail, along with instructions to accept invitations and to purchase booths and other products.

If you need assistance with your application, contact the show to which you are applying directly. Show staff is the most knowledgeable about the application process and your application status.

4. Manage Your Accounts Carefully
You may have created multiple accounts (usernames and passwords) in order to apply multiple times to one show. When you apply to a show through ZAPP™, it is very important that you do not have more than one account open in a browser. Do not open multiple accounts simultaneously. Cookies that tell the ZAPP™ system who you are will no longer be able to distinguish between your accounts. As a result, applications may not be correctly submitted to shows, and payments will not correctly apply to those applications.

ZAPP™ recommends that you open one account, apply to a show, and logout. You can then log in with your other account and apply to a show.

I am getting ready to apply to a show listed here and want to make sure I am understanding what you wrote. Are you saying I can and/or am allowed to create multiple accounts in order in order to apply multiple times to one show?

Thanks in advance, Rick

Hi Rick,

You can have multiple accounts. SOME shows will allow you to apply more than once. You must read the prospectus for each show to determine whether this is allowable or not. Some shows will allow you to apply in a different medium or with a significantly different body of work.

To apply twice to a show (if it is allowed by the show), you must have two accounts.

Best,
