Dogwood Arts Festival 2020 - Knoxville, TN Agreement

ARTIST AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS & CONDITIONS:



1. All work shall be created solely by the artist(s) with no assistance of industrial production techniques and no imports or consignments of piecework items.



2. Dogwood Arts Reproduction Policy: In an attempt to foster an appreciation and value of the arts in all people, including those who cannot afford original work, we believe it is important to offer the public an opportunity to buy reproductions, hoping they will turn to original work as their incomes grow. This transition is only possible if our patrons understand exactly what they are buying. All reproductions must be clearly and individually labeled as such. Prints of original photographic image must have been processed by the artist or under the artist’s direct supervision by a reputable service, and be hand numbered in editions no larger than 750.



3. The artist agrees to comply with all applicable Knox County fire safety regulations regarding display space and materials. The artist agrees to comply with all Festival and City of Knoxville schedules, restrictions, rules, etc. whether outline in this application or other official communications.



4. The artist agrees that the artwork on display at the Festival is of the same style and quality as was represented in the artist’s original application and jury images. The artist also agrees that the Festival shall have the right to record by whatever means it desires the artist, his/her booth, and their work. The Festival retains all rights to use such recording or materials on promoting and advertising the Festival in any media format it desires.



5. Limited security will be provided on the Festival site 24 hours a day. Each exhibiting artist is responsible for insuring their own work. The Festival assumes no responsibility or liability to cover loss or damage to the artist’s property or work. The artist shall bring their own display materials, including lights and electrical cords.



6. No pets are allowed on the Festival site.



7. The artist waives, releases and agrees to hold the Festival harmless from any and all liability, claims, damage, injury, etc. arising or resulting from or caused by the artist’s performance, or lack thereof.



8. The artist is an independent contractor in any and all relationships with the Festival. The artist agrees to remain open and present at the Festival during the show hours specified: 11:00am to 8:00pm on Friday, April 24th and 10:00am to 8:00pm on Saturday, April 25th, and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday, April 26th. Tear-down begins immediately upon closing of the Dogwood Arts Festival at 5:00pm, Sunday. No early tear-down is allowed.



9. If the artist utilizes any Festival employee or volunteer for booth relief or any type of assistance, it is understood that such person shall not be held responsible for any theft, loss or damage to the Artist’s work, booth or goods.



10. The artist is responsible for the payment of any taxes or fees assessed by any governmental or regulatory agency. If you have tax related questions contact Melody Monholland Melody.Monholland@tn.gov



11. Any violation of provisions in this contract or any rules or policies communicated to the artist in official Festival correspondence, may cause the artist to be removed from the show.



12. If the artist is supplying their own tent, the artist agrees they will supply their own 10’ x 10’ white canopy, display equipment, and rope to tie off weights (50lbs per corner). Spikes and staking are not allowed. Tying off to any Market Square or Krutch Park fixture, permanent or temporary, is not allowed. It is understood that canopies and display will be of the highest quality and construction – no tarps or umbrellas are allowed.



13. Artist booths that do not meet Dogwood standards will be denied access to set-up and participate in the festival.



14. The total booth fee of $375 is due no later than January 31, 2020. Cancellations must be received in writing before January 31, 2020. No refunds of any kind will be made after January 31, 2020.  



15. Carefully read and understand all communication from Dogwood Arts. Note deadlines, fees, requirements, and other important information.
