HeartFest ‘A Fine Art Show’ invites you to submit an application.  This juried show, a partner show with ArtFest Midwest ‘The Other Art Show’, is promoted by Stookey Companies.  (ArtFest Midwest is Iowa's largist fine art show and is an annual indoor June show that offers an affordable, alternative to the downtown art show.)  HeartFest offers a fine-art venue for Valentine’s Day gift giving—handmade one-of-a-kind pieces.  The show will be held at newly-renovated Valley West Mall, located in the western upscale suburb of West Des Moines.  It is just off the Des Moines freeway, I-235; and its anchors are Von Maur, Younkers and JC Penney.       • Booth sharing allowed (maximum of 2 artists, 2 jury fees required)
      • Free RV parking
      • Show flyers mailed to artists (upon request) for distribution at shows/galleries—no charge
      • Same-level load-in and load-out

      • February 4, 2012 - (11:59 pm CST) – Application deadline (ZAPP online application), and nonrefundable jury fee payment deadline through ZAPP
      • February 5, 2012 – Acceptance notifications (invitations) & contracts emailed
      • February 7, 2012 – Deadline (postmark date) for nonrefundable booth fee check (made out to Stookey Companies) & contract

      Fees:

      • Application/jury fee (nonrefundable) - $25 per medium – must be paid through
              www.zapplication.org online:  by credit card or through Paypal
      • Booth fees must be paid by check only and sent directly to Stookey Companies
        at the time an artist is selected to participate.  Booth fee checks must be postmarked
        by December 8, 2011.  Credit cards are not accepted and booth fees cannot be paid online
        at Zapplication.  Booth fee must be mailed to Stookey Companies, P.O. Box 31083;
        Des Moines, IA; 50310.

      Requirements:

      • 4 photos are required (must be formatted for ZAPP):  3 of artwork, 1 of booth display.  Check the “Image Preparation” section under “Help” for more information on formatting photos. 
      • All merchandise must be brought through the maintenance double and overhead doors.
      • All tables must be draped to the floor.
      • Tent frames (no tops) may be used for display.
      • Merchandise that is displayed above the railings upstairs must be backed by fabric or panels.
      • Artists must check in at Lower Center Court prior to setup.
      • Artists must not begin packing prior to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
      • All booths must be set up within the marked boundaries on the floor.
      • No “sale” or “discount” signs are allowed.
      • Artists must provide their own electrical bars with circuit breakers, as well as 3-prong grounded extension cords.  Wattage limit for each artist is 400W.
      • No tape is allowed on the floor or wall surfaces.  Nothing can be hung from the ceiling, pillars or walls.  No balloons are allowed.  No spray painting or electric cords across aisles are allowed.  No TV’s, radios or other sound equipment is to be used.
      • No refunds or credits will be made.
      • Artist presence is required.
      • Only the type of work pictured may be displayed at the show.
      • All work must be designed and handcrafted by the artist.
