Event Summary
You are invited to apply to exhibit your work at the 40th Annual Huffhines Art Trails. Huffhines is a two-day festival held outdoors in Richardson, Texas, just minutes north of Dallas.  The show has grown since its humble beginnings to become one of the best arts and crafts shows in North Texas!  Huffhines is sponsored and hosted by the City of Richardson.  Nestled in the trees of Huffhines Park, Huffhines Art Trails has become a tradition for many artists, patrons, volunteers and entertainers alike. It has a strong reputation locally and the demographics of the area provide support year after year. This popular and successful event takes place on October 22 & 23, 2016.
 

General Information
SHOW DATES FOR 2016 EVENT: October 22 - 23, 2016

SHOW HOURS: Saturday 10 am - 6 pm and Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: August 15, 2016

JURY FEE: $20
A non-refundable application fee of $20 is required for each entry form/category submitted. Credit cards will be accepted through Zapplication.

JURY AND SELECTION PROCESS:
Each artist will be scored by jury members on a scale of yes-no-maybe for several rounds until the show has been selected. The top scores in each category receive an invitation to the show. An additional number of artists will be retained for a waiting list of alternates and based upon the scores received in their category.

NOTIFICATION: August 26, 2016
Upon completion of jury, you will receive an email of your status.

BOOTH FEE DUE: September 12, 2016
Upon receipt of an acceptance email, the selected artist is required to return a check or money order payable to City of Richardson for $275 to secure their booth space. All monies are deposited upon receipt. If you will be paying by credit card information and attached link will be sent with acceptance email.

ELECTRICITY FEE: $80
Electricity is limited and on a first-come first-serve basis. Electricty must be purchased and fee mailed with the booth fee after acceptance.

Rules/Regulations
FESTIVAL ELIGIBILITY & RULES:
  • The following policies and rules have been established by Huffhines Art Trails to ensure quality and integrity of the show.
  • The Festival is open to all applying Artists.
  • Exhibition in previous Festivals does not guarantee acceptance.
  • If two or more persons collaborate to produce original work, each person must be identified on the Application. No work by apprentices or employees will be accepted. Commercial agents, dealers, or manufacturers are not eligible to enter.
  • All Artists must be present on site during the entire Festival. No spouses or other representatives will be permitted in place of artist. Picture ID is required at check-in.
  • All jewelry must have been juried in the jewelry category.
  • Photographers must print their own photography or be involved in and supervise the printing process.
  • Artists must comply with all safety requirements, and vehicles must be parked only in designated areas. Noncompliance will result in elimination from consideration for any future festivals.
  • Participating exhibitors will be responsible for collecting and paying current Texas sales tax, .0825%, on all sales made during the show.
  • You will receive your artist packet at check-in. Inside you will find a financial sheet that must be filled out with your earnings for both days and returned to festival headquarters before you leave the show on Sunday. This report is confidential.
  • All rental tents must be delivered and set-up by the Wednesday prior to the show. Artist need not be present for rental tent set-up.
  • The jury committee or festival staff reserves the right to refuse exhibition of work that is not consistent with the submitted slides and the rules listed above. Failure to comply will result in immediate removal from the festival with no refund.
  • If the City of Richardson is required for reasons beyond its control to postpone, shorten or cancel Huffhines Art Trails, no artist shall have any right or claim for any damages whether direct, indirect or consequential, or any other kind, arising or alleged to arise by reason of postponement or cancellation of the event. 
  • No refunds or preferred treatment can be made for inclement weather or any other causes not in the control of the City of Richardson and Huffhines Art Trails.


Booth Information

CHECK-IN:
  • Artists are provided with approximately a 15' x 15' space, depending on the location of your booth.
  • Booth assignments are made at the discretion of the Festival Director.
  • Photo ID is required at time of check-in.
  • Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m. on the Friday before the show.
  • Packets with booth number and other materials will not be available until day of check-in.
  • If you are not arriving until Saturday morning, you must be unloaded and set-up by 9:00 a.m.
SET-UP and PARKING:
Unloading and set-up may begin after you have checked in and received your packet. Vehicles are not allowed to park on the grass or trails. Unloading must be done from the curb. After unloading, all vehicles must park in the designated parking area. Please move your vehicle from the curb immediately after unloading to allow other artist to park and unload. All vehicles must be moved from the festival parking lot by 9:00 a.m.
VIEW LEGAL AGREEMENT
