The Arts Council’s mission is to improve the quality of life in Las Cruces, Doña Ana County, and Southern New Mexico by ensuring that the performing, visual, and literary arts are an integral part of education, economic growth, and community development. The Doña Ana Arts Council organizes the Renaissance ArtsFaire (RenFaire), an annual outdoor festival and juried arts and crafts fair, and numerous other programs for the community. The Arts Council also manages and operates the historic Rio Grande Theatre, the oldest two story adobe theater in the Southwest. The Arts Council is committed to youth arts education and provides numerous opportunities for instruction in the visual and performing arts, including Career Art Path for middle school students, Missoula Children's Theater summer art camp, and weekly art workshops for young residents at the local domestic violence shelter. Proceeds from the Las Cruces Arts Fair will be used to support the Doña Ana Arts Council’s many community programs.

The 2017 Las Cruces Arts Fair will include an artists' preview and silent auction for the benefit of the Doña Ana Arts Council’s programs and activities. All artists participating in the Arts Fair must contribute an item to the preview/silent auction. The item should be representative of the artist's work being exhibited. The proceeds from the silent auction help support the Art Council's children and adult programs in Southern New Mexico. We encourage you to visit our web site at www.DAArts.org. Besides being a successful fundraiser, the artists' preview and silent auction provides a welcoming introduction to the variety of art that is found at the Arts Fair. Visitors have a chance to preview artists' work before going into the main exhibition space.
