Event Summary
Since 1971, Citizens Bank & Trust Lake Wales Arts Festival has celebrated a tradition of exhibiting quality fine art. The festival attracts up to 15,000 visitors each year.

 

General Information
 
Application Instructions
  • Each artist must complete an individual on line application and submit all items on the checklist.
  • Applications packets must be electronically submitted by January 6, 2017
  • Jurying will take place on January 11, 2017.
  • January 13, 2017 notice of acceptance will be emailed and posted on the Lake Wales Arts Council website www.lakewalesartscouncil.org.

Application Checklist
 
  1. Complete an individual on-line application.
  2. Four images: Three of new individual art works and one of overall exhibit booth in .jpg.
  3. Jury Fee: $30 for each category entered paid through Zapp. Fees are non-refundable.
  4. Exhibit Booth Fee paid through Zapp due upon acceptance: $160 per exhibit space. Non-refundable upon acceptance.
  5. Artist must provide tent and display racks that are strong enough to withstand winds. No staking down tents will be allowed. Securing tents should be done with weights.

Artist Selection
An anonymous panel of experienced jurors will select the artists for the Citizens Bank & Trust Lake Wales Arts Festival 2017. Jurying is based solely on the images submitted and acceptance will go to artists with the highest scores. A waiting list will be kept.

Awards Selection
Each year, awards selection is made by two different judges without regard to category.

Friday, February 17        -- Registration and set up:  1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
                                    -- Art-B-Que Festival kick-off by the shores of Lake Wailes at 6:00                                        pm
 
Saturday, February 18    -- Registration and set up:  7:00 am to 9:00 am
                                    -- Continental Breakfast for artist:  7:00 am to 9:30 am
                                    -- Judging of Exhibits starts:  9:30 am
                                    -- Arts Festival open:  10:00 am to 5:00 pm
                                    --Award ribbon distribution: 3:00 pm
                               
Sunday, February 19      -- Continental Breakfast for artists:  7:00 am to 9:30 am
                                    -- Arts Festival open:  10:00 am to 4:00 pm
                                    -- Award checks can be picked up from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Information Tent
 
Security is provided from Friday 6:00 pm until Saturday 6:00 am and Saturday 6:00 pm until Sunday 6:00 am

Popular Food Trucks will provide festival food on Saturday and Sunday.
In addition, in order to save artist time, sandwich/boxed lunches will be offered for $10/person. The boxed lunch includes 1/2 sandwich, chips, 2 cookies and lemonade. Selection and payment must be made in advance at the time you are paying your booth fee. There will be no extras to purchase the days of the Festival.

Option 2: Veggie wrap, chips, 2 cookies & lemonade.
Sunday:
Option 1: Ham and cheese sub sandwich, chips, 2 cookies & lemonade.
Option 2: Veggie wrap, chips, 2 cookies & lemonade.

Survey
Thank you for completing the festival survey. Volunteers will pick them up at the end of the festival.

Rules/Regulations
Arts Festival Rules
 
Participation
Participation is limited to artists showing their OWN ORIGINAL WORKS OF ART created in the last three years. No kits, manufactured items, sea shells, T-shirts or other forms of manufactured clothing, molds, patterns or pre-determined art will be accepted.  The committee reserves the right to remove any inappropriate exhibit or work of art which does not meet its standards without refund. Artists work must correspond to images submitted.
 
Proxy Exhibitors
No stand-in or proxy exhibitors will be allowed to represent the artist. 
 
Sales Tax
Each artist is responsible for collecting and paying 7% Florida Sales Tax on all sales made during the show.
 
Art Categories
An artist may apply to enter as many categories as desired but may only exhibit works in the categories accepted for this show.
 
Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued after the artist has been accepted. An accepted applicant has a commitment to participate in the festival.
 
Registration
Photo identification will be verified at the registration desk.
 
Exhibit Booth
  • Exhibits must stay within the allotted space, approximately 10' x 10'.
  • Only one exhibitor is permitted in each space.
  • Exhibits must be in place by 9:30 am on Saturday, February 18 and remain in place until 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 19.
  • In order to be considered for judging the booth identification must be placed on the top right of the booth front side.
    • Artists must wear the name tag provided through the festival time.
