Event Summary
The mission of the Summer Art Market is to sell and showcase fine art produced by the Art Students League’s active students, members and faculty, reflective of the media taught at the school. Applicants must be active participants in the Art Students League.

General Information
The 2017 Summer Art Market (SAM) will mark the 25th year of producing a successful and highly regarded event, held during the second weekend of June on the streets surrounding the Art Students League of Denver (ASLD). SAM is open only to the Art Students League of Denver’s community of artists. The event includes 180 booths, exhibiting and selling the artwork of over 250 artists, and bringing in over 18,000 visitors. In addition to the art, the festival offers food, entertainment, art demos and KidART activities.
 
Applicants must be active participants in the Art Students League. All artists showing and/or selling at the Summer Art Market must submit an individual application. 
 
SPACE FEES:
$440 (10'x10' space)
$495 (10'x10' corner space, at intersections or alleys)
Fees are for spaces only. Exhibitor must provide tent, tables, chairs, displays, etc.

Digital Art*
Fiber Arts
Jewelry (fine art jewelry e.g, precious metal clay, wire jewelry, ceramic pieces)
Mixed Media / Book Art
Painting / Drawing
Photography (alternative processes e.g. photos taken and manipulated on a
            Smart Phone or IPhone, IPad, etc. Cyanotype, VanDyke, Salt prints)
Printmaking
Sculpture
 
For artists who use digital software to create art, and therefore can only present their work through prints, please indicate the process and provide imagery of the final printed work(s). Only the highest quality, state-of-the art printers and inks used in prints will be accepted. 

You must indicate all categories which apply to your work and images of all types of media must be submitted with your application.
 
All work must be original or limited editions. Acceptable methods for limited editions: Fine art prints (including serigraphy, lithography, relief printing, intaglio, monotypes, etchings, chine collé, photo etching), or cast ceramic and sculpture
 
The following fine art printing methods are acceptable for limited editions: 
1. Silk Screen - also known as serigraphy 
2. Lithography 
3. Relief Printing - woodcut and linoleum cut 
4. Intaglio (etching) 
5. Monotypes  
6. Etchings 
7. Chine Colle 
8. Photo etching 
9. Ceramic molds 
10. Sculpture 
11. Photography 
 
Non-original, reproduced items such as note cards, t-shirts, jewelry and calendars may not be sold. This includes iris gicleé prints, photo reproductions (except in the photography category), offset lithography and prints made on a color copier.
 
Not-eligible: 
1. Furniture 
2. Absolutely no reproductions are to be offered 
3. Color copies are considered reproductions and may not be shown or sold  
 
Methods that will not be accepted: 
1. Iris – Giclee Prints 
2. Photo reproductions art paper 
3. Off-set lithography 
4. Prints made on color copier

The ASLD is committed to fostering an environment supportive of all artists. Other booth assignments will be based solely by random placement rather than requests.
