ABOUT THE MANAYUNK ARTS FESTIVAL
The Manayunk Development Corporation (Manayunk.com) is pleased to announce the 2017 28th Annual Manayunk Arts Festival. This year we invite you to join us at the tri-state's largest outdoor, juried arts and crafts festival. We look forward to celebrating 28 years of presenting an eclectic variety of fine arts and crafts from across the country. Nearly 150,000 collectors, buyers, and designers will fill historic Main Street Manayunk over two days for this event.

Each year we receive an exciting and unique pool of artisans and our jury is faced with the challenge of selecting 300 artists from an annually increasing application pool. We thank you for your interest in our show and look forward to seeing the art that is submitted.
 
ABOUT MANAYUNK
Named a National Historic District in 1983 and a Classic Town by The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission in 2007, Manayunk is centrally located just 15 minutes from Center City Philadelphia, King of Prussia, Chestnut Hill, and The Main Line. Nestled along the banks of the Schuylkill River and the Manayunk Canal and Tow Path, the commercial district is lined with renovated Victorian storefronts and mill buildings giving you an urban experience with small town charm.

APPLYING TO THE MANAYUNK ARTS FESTIVAL
The Manayunk Arts Festival is open to all artists who design and produce their own work in a range of mediums including fiber, glass & ceramics, jewelry, mixed media, painting & drawing, photography, and wood & sculpture.
 

APPLICATION GUIDELINES
All artists may apply through Zapplication.org and all applicants must supply:

  • 4 high resolution images of the work you will be exhibiting
  • 1 high resolution image of your booth display

PLEASE NOTE: All artwork must be the sole work of the artist that is applying. BUY-SELL artwork is PROHIBITED! All artists MUST also be present both days of the festival to sell their work. No assistants, family members, dealers or agents may be take the place of the artist.


JURYING & GETTING ACCEPTED
Ten notable jurors will examine one category at a time. They will have a round table discussion for each piece of art work submitted, assess the work, and individually score it. Scoring is on a 1-5 scale, with 1 being the lowest score and 5 being the highest. Scores with the highest work in each category will be chosen to participate in the Manayunk Arts Festival. Artists are reviewed on many different criteria including: medium, quality, creation process, uniqueness, price point, booth display & signage, and overall presentation of work.
 

FESTIVAL FEES
  • JURY FEE: A $30 jury fee to be submitted with your application
  • BOOTH FEE: A $450 booth fee to be submitted to secure your booth once you have been invited to the festival

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS
  • JURY FEE: Jury fees are non-refundable. A $10.00 fee will be charged for all checks returned with insufficient funds.
  • BOOTH FEE: Booth fees will be refunded if you notify the festival by May 31, 2017, minus a $25.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations must be made by contacting the show director via phone or email.


IMPORTANT DATES

  • MARCH 7TH: Application deadline - all applications must be submitted through Zapplication.org by this date.
  • MARCH 8TH: All applications will be reviewed by the jury.
  • MARCH 15TH: All artists will be notified of their show status: invited, wait listed, or not invited.
  • MARCH 15TH - APRIL 15TH: All invited artists must accept or deny the shows invitation to participate during this time.
  • APRIL 15TH: All invited artists who have accepted their invitation must make their booth payment by this date to secure their space in the show.
  • JUNE 1ST: Artist packets are sent out including booth number, set-up information and festival details.
  • JUNE 24TH - JUNE 25TH: Day 1 & 2 of the Manayunk Arts Festival

THE ARTIST EXPERIENCE
The Manayunk Arts Festival will continue to provide the following amenities:
  • Booth sitters for each artist
  • Badges and tent signs for artists at check-in
  • Parking for at least 1 vehicle per artist
  • Breakfast and coffee for artists at the Artist Experience Tent
  • Help with loading and unloading of your booth
  • All artists listed on Manayunk.com
  • Dedicated email blasts to more than 10,000 people showcasing the Manayunk Arts Festival
  • Special hotel rate with our partners the Hilton
  • Only allow sponsors of the highest caliber and integrity, and that add value to the show
