Event Summary
For 17 years we have prided ourselves on staging a juried show of original fine art that is welcoming and profitable for our exhibiting artists:
  • Pledged patrons from a prosperous community:  $20,000–$25,000 pledged money-provides built-in sales before the show even begins
  • The first stop on your Mid-Western show circuit: Centrally located, within easy driving distance to top-rated shows in Chicago, Columbus, Ohio, and Indianapolis.

Categories
Artists will apply in one of the following categories. If the artist wishes to apply in more than one category (where applicable), a separate application and fee is required for each category. Only one application per category is allowed. A maximum of two total applications is allowed.
  • Clay: Functional or sculptural, original clay or porcelain work.
  • Digital Art: Original work in which the original image, or manipulation of other source material, was executed by the artist using a computer. Work must be in editions, signed and numbered. Artists using a digital camera to produce work, but who are not altering the image, should apply under Photography.
  • Drawing: Work created using dry media including chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax, crayons, etc. or from a fluid medium of inks and washes applied by pen or brush.
  • Fiber: Wearable or decorative work including basketry, embroidery, weaving, leatherwork, tapestry, papermaking. No forms of mass production are accepted.
  • Glass: Works are functional or decorative and are kiln-formed, crafted by glass blowing, molding or casting.
  • Jewelry: All jewelry, no matter the medium, must apply in this category. Only those artists accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry.
  • Metal: Sculptural or functional work using metal as its primary medium.
  • Mixed Media: 2D and 3D work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece.
  • Painting: Acrylic, oil and watercolors apply to this category.
  • Photography: Film and digital files used to create photographs from the artist’s original image. Work must be printed by the artist or under the artist’s direct supervision.
  • Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints; must be in limited editions of 250 or less, signed and numbered.
  • Sculpture: 3D work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium.
  • Wood: Primary material is wood, either functional or decorative.
 

Rules/Regulations
Applications must include four images plus a booth image
  • Art exhibited must be current and representative of art submitted in applications
  • All art exhibited must be for sale.
  • Exhibits must be composed of 80% original work.
    • Reproductions and gicleés are allowed but must be limited to 20% of the pieces AND 20% of the space in your booth. 
    • Other reproduction methods not covered by the above definition of “reproductions” will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.  The Winona Art Fair intends to display fine art completed by the artists’ hands, and reserves the right to prevent the sale of items at the fair that it considers contrary to this intent.
  •  Each artist exhibiting must apply and be accepted through the jury process.  Booth sharing is not allowed.
  • Artists who jointly produced art should both be included on the application and may both be present during the exhibit.
  • Artists must be present with their work during show hours. Booth sitters will be available during the show.
  • Absolutely no early tear-downs are allowed.
  • Invited artists who agree to exhibit must pay booth fees by April 1, 2017.
  • Fees are non-refundable. 
Collaborators:
Co-artists/collaborators participate in both the creation and the production of the work; they are not assistants, business partners, employees, apprentices or part of the production studio. All work displayed must bear the names of both collaborators. No more than two collaborators will be accepted and both collaborators must be named on the application. Collaborator(s) may be present for the entire two-day show and must check in if attending.
 
Reproductions:
A reproduction is defined as any existing work of art (painting, pastel, drawing, etc.) that is copied by digital (giclee’) or photographic means and does not apply in the digital art category. Reproduction pieces will be permitted under these guidelines. If, at any time, members of the Art Festival staff feel that artists are taking advantage of these rules, the artist will be required to remove all such work and will not receive a refund. All reproductions must be clearly labeled “reproduction” and must not consist of more then 20% of the pieces displayed AND must not occupy more than 20% of your booth space. Reproductions must be signed by the artist and reproduced in numbered editions by the artist of no more than 250. 
 

Booth Information
Booth space is 10' X 10'. No electricity is provided, and generators are not allowed.  Booth fee is $175, to be paid no later than April 1, 2017.
