Event Summary
The Optimist Club of Lockport will be sponsoring its 43rd annual Lockport Outdoor Arts & Craft Festival on Main St.  Artists & Craftsmen will have an opportunity for prizes & awards.  The festival attracts 20-25,000 people over the two day period.  All proceeds from the show go to support Youth Activities in the Lockport Area.
 
About Lockport:
The City of Lockport grew from the banks of the nineteenth century engineering marvel, the Erie Canal and is the site of the flight of five locks. It is located in the center of Niagara County, the county seat and located 18 miles from Niagara Falls NY.  Lockport attractions include Erie Canal activities such as Lockport Locks & Erie Canal Cruises, Lockport Cave & Underground Boat Ride, Flight of Five Winery and a recently (2017) installed zip line (The Zipper) across the Erie Canal plus others within walking distance of the festival.

 Limited to 250 vendors
 Located on Main St. Lockport
 Booth size: 10’( out from curb) x 15’W
 Set up time: 7:30AM-11:00AM
 NOTE: stakes cannot be driven into blacktop to secure tent, etc.  Please use weights.
Applying to Lockport Outdoor Arts & Crafts Festival:
The festival is open to all artists & craftsman who design & produce their own work in a range of mediums including glass, ceramics, fiber, jewelry, mixed media, painting, drawing, photography, wood & sculpture.
 
All artists and craftspeople may apply thru zapplication and must supply:
  • 4 high resolution images of the work you will be exhibiting
  • 1 high resolution image of your booth display
 
All artwork must be the sole work of the artist or craftsman applying. BUY-SELL artwork is prohibited.  All artists or craftsman must be present both days of the festival.
 
Jurying/Acceptance
Jurors will examine 1 category at a time and discuss each entry.  Assess the work & individually score it. Scoring is on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being the lowest & 5 the highest. Scores with the highest marks in each category will be chosen to participate in the Lockport Outdoor Arts & Crafts Festival.
 
Festival fees:
Jury/Application Fee - $15.00 to be submitted with the application.
Booth fee - $75.00 to be submitted to secure your booth once your application is accepted.
 
Refunds:
Jury/Application Fee – Non Refundable
Booth Fee – Refunded if festival is notified by May 15th minus $25.00 cancellation fee. Cancellation must be made by contacting the show director via phone or email.
 
Important Dates:
May 18th – all applications must be submitted through zapplication.org by this date
May 20th – applications will be reviewed by the jury
May 25th – artists and craftsman will be notified of their show status (invited, wait listed    or not invited)
May 25thth- June 10th – all invited artists or craftsman must accept or deny the shows     invitation.
June 10thth – All invited artists or craftsman who have accepted their invitation must make their booth payment by this date to secure their space.
June 10th – artists packets are sent out including booth number, set up information, etc.
June 23rd - June 24th – Date of the 43rd Annual Lockport Outdoor Arts & Crafts Festival
 
Amenities for Participants:
The Optimist Club of Lockport has made arrangements with Lockport Cave & Underground boat ride to schedule an after the show Saturday evening tour for participants in the show at group rates if 15 or more people are interested. Normally the last tour is approx. 4:30PM.

Notes:
Please note, the festival is an outdoor show (rain or shine) so it is expected that each participant should be weather prepared.  In other words a tent (rain) with weights (wind).  Participants are not permitted to have vehicles in the show area.

Rules/Regulations
Lockport Outdoor Arts and Crafts Festival Rules
  1. Insurance requirements prohibit motor vehicles in the show area while the show is open to the public (11:00AM to 5:00 PM). Early shutdowns are not permitted. In case of an emergency you must notify the office first.
  2. All food vendors must have a health department permit. Please contact Niagara County Health Dept. at (716) 439-7596 for food permits prior to the show. Cost will be less expensive if you call at least 1 month in advance.
       3.   All participants (vendors) are expected to stay open until 5:00 PM.
       4.   Do not exceed your space limit.
  1. All participants are responsible for placing their trash and garbage in plastic garbage bags on the curb behind their booth. Barrels in the center of the street are for the public’s use only.
  2. Vendor's can offer for sale only the items for which they have been approved. Please list a category of products that you intend to sell on your application.
  3. Food vendors may sell only products that they have been approved for. Please list all products that you intend to sell on your application.
        8.  Dumping of grey water in parking lots is not allowed.
  1. Judging will be held on Saturday and will be in the Community Room at the back entrance of the Public library.  Drop off items between 11:00 and 12:00 Noon an Application is included in this package. Additional applications will be available early Saturday morning at the Show Office at the corner of Main and Elm Streets.  Pick up your items between 2:00 and 3:00 PM
  1. The Optimist Club of Lockport does not recommend leaving your booth up or leaving valuables over night because no security or traffic control is provided. The Optimist Club of Lockport will not be responsible for damage by fire, theft, wind, transportation, or any other cause.
Main Street will be Closed To All Through Traffic at 7:00 A.M. each day to allow for set-up.
The Street will reopen at 6:30 P.M. to all Public Traffic.
  1.  Electricity is not available on site.
  2. WARNING! First time vendors; please be sure to bring enough heavy weights to contain your tent. Main Street has a tendency to become very windy in various areas.


Booth Information
booth size is 10'x15'
drive up tp booth site is permissable before & after the show to unload & load.  No vehilcles are allowed in the show area during the show hours (11:00am-5:00pm).
