Event Summary
Thanks for your interest in applying to participate in the 18th Annual Wellfleet Oysterfest. Please read all application materials thoroughly as there are several significant changes this year. We understand it's a lot of reading material, and it is very important to us that you fully understand the terms of participation. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation.

The 'Fest will take place the weekend after Columbus Day, Saturday and Sunday, October 13 & 14, 2018, in Wellfleet, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The event is produced by Wellfleet SPAT, Shellfish Promotion and Tasting, Inc., a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization devoted to sustaining Wellfleet's shellfishing and aquaculture industries. Proceeds from the ‘Fest support the organization’s mission. We encourage you to learn more about SPAT at our website.

This two-day family festival celebrates the town's famous oysters, clams and shellfishing traditions bringing together locals and visitors alike for a weekend full of hometown flavor and big time fun! It features local food, a fine art and craft fair, great music, Family Fun, educational lectures, culinary programs and the famous Oyster Shucking Competition. The ‘Fest has become one of New England’s most popular fall festivals and attracted 17,000 visitors last year. It is held in the center of town and is limited to approximately 70 art & craft exhibitors. 50 additional booths are reserved for local and mission-related nonprofits, food vendors and raw...

General Information
SPAT has reenergized its focus on the organizational mission of sustaining Wellfleet’s shellfishing and aquaculture industries. This will be achieved through promotional and educational activities at the ‘Fest and throughout the year.  This means that ALL aspects of the 'Fest are being assessed through a lens that considers its relevance to the mission. In particular, please expect booth locations to change. In an effort to heighten awareness of SPAT's mission, nonprofits with related missions will be woven throughout the 'Fest, rather than being grouped in a single location, and the number of booths may be slightly reduced in order to make the 'Fest safer and more enjoyable for everyone.  You will be asked to indicate a booth location preference, but there are no guarantees that we can accommodate your request.

The Wellfleet OysterFest strives to be a high-quality, balanced show with a strong preference for handmade art and craft in a wide variety of creative mediums. Some exhibitor spaces are reserved for mission-related nonprofit organizations. In limited cases, art and craft exhibitors selling imported or manufactured goods that are connected to the local community or related to the mission of SPAT will be considered. Only items representative of what is included in an artist’s application may be included in the show.

Please make sure that your information appears in your application exactly as you would like it to appear on our website.  We copy directly from one to the other in order to avoid mistakes and to assure your information is presented the way you would like it to be.

This is a juried show.  Jurors are local artists or arts-related professionals who are not show participants and are not agents of SPAT. SPAT strives to have different jurors each year and the jurors will be announced as soon. Each artist is rated on the quality of their product and their booth display, as demonstrated in their application.  The jury is blind and personal information about the artists, including previous participation, is not included in their review. Previous participation does not guarantee a spot in this year’s show.

Again, please expect booth locations to change this year.

The only way to apply to the 2018 OysterFest is through this electronic application process. The application deadline is April 15, 2018.  Late applications will not be accepted.
