Event Summary
In its 23rd year, The Art Show at BA is the longest-running most respected art show in Williamson County -- the highest-ranking county in Tennessee by per capita income. This eagerly anticipated, three-day event attracts more than 2,000 attendees annually who have come to appreciate the high-quality fine art for sale at the show. The Art Show at BA selects only 75 fine artists and artisans to exhibit and sell their work to visitors. Conveniently held before the holidays, many people use this event as an opportunity to purchase unique, one-of-a-kind gifts beyond shopping for themselves. Additionally, BA hosts an upscale marketplace featuring local boutiques held at the same time, but not within the same space.

General Information

Artist Amenities

  • Artist Hospitality: Brentwood Academy strives for each artist to have an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Friendly volunteers will be available to help transport artists' artwork to booths on set-up day. The Art Show at BA provides complimentary snacks and drinks for artists throughout the event. In addition, artists can expect lunch Friday and Saturday. 
  • Onsite Security: Private security is provided during each day of the event, including after show hours.
  • Easy Check Out System: Brentwood Academy is responsible for all activities related to check out.
  • Prompt Payment: Within approximately two weeks of The Art Show at BA, each artist will receive a check, comprising 70% of his/her gross sales.

Artist Participation 
Artists are expected to be present during show hours. Buyers enjoy meeting the artists and engagement with the guests is a major selling point of the show. Artists bring a comfortable director’s chair or stool and some bring a project to work on to engage visitors.

Lobby Gallery
Each artist has the opportunity to display one piece of large art in the Lobby Gallery. It is required that each artist bring one easel to hold the piece for the duration of the show. Without an easel, it is not be possible to showcase artwork in the lobby.

Commission
Artists receive seventy percent (70%) of the total price of each item sold from The Art Show at BA. The remaining thirty percent (30%) of sales go to support Brentwood Academy. Should any artwork be commissioned during the show or within 180 days following The Art Show at BA, Brentwood Academy is to receive thirty percent (30%) of the total price of the item.

Publicity
The Art Show at BA publicizes the event in the Brentwood/Nashville area with advertising and targeted direct mail, along with an active social media/email campaign. Over 20,000 unique individuals are reached through an extensive paid social media advertising campaign. Direct mail invitations are sent to 9,000 households and 6,000 households receive the BA Triangle Magazine via direct mail which advertises the show. Additonally, artists are encouraged to publicize the event through their own Facebook, Instagram or Twitter accounts, and to like/follow/share The Art Show at BA page and posts.



Rules/Regulations
  • All works exhibited must be for sale and must be original, designed and produced by, or under the direct supervision of the exhibiting artist.
  • The four (4) images submitted must accurately represent the artist’s work and be of the same quality, range of price points, consistency, and style that will be exhibited.
  • Artists should accurately designate their work in the media category that most closely corresponds to the majority of their items being brought to the show.
  • No commercial reproductions, posters or promotional products are permitted; a small number of limited, signed, high-quality reproductions may be allowed, with permission. Notecards may be an exception. Nudity in any form is not acceptable at The Art Show at BA. Brentwood Academy also reserves the right to refuse pieces on site that do not fit the quality of the show.
  • Except in special circumstances, the artist must be present with his/her art during the show. Volunteers will be available to provide respite for short breaks and meals.
  • Artists will display their works for sale within their designated booths and will have limited space (onsite) for storing additional inventory. The exhibiting artist may decorate his/her booth with burlap or other neutral fabric; any displays must be aesthetically pleasing.
  • Two weeks prior to the show, each exhibiting artist will be required to provide a list of inventory, brief description, and price for each item that will be brought to the show.


Booth Information

Standard Booth (4 x 4 x 8) -  $150
Reserved Corner Booth -  $200
Double Booth - $300


All artists will be able to move in and set up on Friday of the show from 9:00AM - 3:00PM. Booths for each artist consist of 4 x 4 x 8 foot pegged panels, set up in a U shape. The bracing across the front of each booth will provide an easy way for each artist to add lighting. Artists are responsible for bringing their own lighting (6 lights, no more than 300 watts total), extension cords for use in the booth, step stool, and any other display items. The Art Show at BA provides artists with hooks for pegboards, booth signs, name tags, and sales tags.

Artists should give careful consideration to the merchandising of booth space. Typically, artists bring burlap, paper or other material to cover the peg board and enhance the appearance of their booths. Also, easels and bins help increase sales space. Items should not extend into walkways; it is acceptable to have one chair outside of the booth. Additionally, storage is available to each artist for back stock.
