The One of a Kind Spring Show is a 3-day show featuring fine art and craft from a juried selection of talented artists running April 26 - April 28, 2019 at Chicago's Mart. We invite artists, designers and makers with high quality, handmade, original work to apply to be part of the One of a Kind Spring experience!  Eligible work ranges from giftable craft to premium fine art.  Applicants will be juried and chosen based on uniqueness, craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Acceptance Criteria for Artists (Non Emerging Artists) and Participation Rules

  • You must be the artist/designer of your work
  • You must be the original creator/assembler/producer/maker of your work
  • You must understand and have mastered the craft process needed to make your work
  • You must be intimately involved in the production process from start to finish
  • You must create/produce your work in the country in which you reside
  • Artists must be on-site representing their work for the duration of the show
  • Artists may have limited assistants/apprentices as long as the original artist in on-site and involved in the production as stated above
  • Artists may display work only in the media category in which they were accepted
  • Reproduction aids such as molds used in jewelry or ceramics must be created by the applying artist
  • For photographers only:  original photography should make up most of the artist's booth
  • For fine artists: signed and numbered limited editions will be permitted
  • Booth sharing is not permitted

Acceptance Criteria for Emerging Artists 
The Emerging Artists section of the show includes designated spaces dedicated to talented up and coming artists, designers and makers.  To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
  • First time participant in a One of a Kind Show
  • Less than 3 years of professional experience as a full time artist (installations, exhibitions and/or art shows)
  • Exceptional work and presentation
  • You must be the artist/designer of your work
  • You must be the original creator/assembler/producer/maker of your work
  • You must understand and have mastered the craft process needed to make your craft
  • You must be intimately involved in the production process from start to finish
  • You must create/produce your work in the county in which you reside
  • Artists may have limited assistants/apprentices as long as the original artist is on-site and involved in the production as stated above
  • Reproduction aids such as molds used in jewelry or ceramics must be created by the applying artist
  • For photographers:  original photographs should make up the majority of the artist's display (not prints)
  • For fine artists:  signed and numbered limited editions will be permitted
  • Booth sharing is not permitted

Application Process
  • All applications must be submitted online through Zapplication at www.zapplication.org.  
  • To be considered you will be asked to:
    • Create an online artist profile
    • Prepare and upload 5 images in total
      • 3 images of your work
      • 1 image of your studio/work space (system requires this image to have a value, please allocate/label it as $1)
      • 1 image of your booth/display 
      • Images must be 1920 pixels on the longest side 
    • Submit a $35 USD non-refundable application fee
    • Complete the online application and submit it before midnight (CST) for the early jury on October 10, 2018

Jury Notification

Notification of your jury status (early jury) will be emailed to you on October 17, 2018 and posted on your profile through Zapplication. Please do not call.

Invited artists will receive an acceptance email including instructions for contracting and additional show information.  Once invited artists have "accepted" through Zapplication, an email will be sent and a 50% deposit will be due with the online contract (contracting portal is NOT through Zapplicaiton) by November 1. (the remaining payments are broken up into 2 payments)

  • Standard Booth - approximately 10'x10' = $1950
  • Standard Corner Booth - approximately 10'x10' = $2350
    • Corner configurations consist of 2 walls & 2 sides of exposure, not 3 walls
  • Multiple booths are available upon request and the pricing is reflected above
