Why Louisville?

It’s hard to believe that the annual Arts Festival Conference is about to turn five. ZAPP® has sponsored and presented the Conference over these past years to create a space for professional development, dialogue, and networking among art fair and festival artists, show directors, and staff.

For the 2013 conference we choose to partner with a special city and an incredible legacy art event: This year’s event takes place October 7-8, 2013, in Louisville, Kentucky, immediately following the St. James Court Art Show. The St. James Court Art Show is made up of six separate sections which feature 750 artists in total from across the nation. While the ZAPPcon is only turning five, the Art Show is celebrating 57 years! Our conference host hotel, the Seelbach Hilton, is near a shuttle stop that will take attendees right to the heart of the three-day festival.

Beyond the art show, Louisville offers up Southern-style hospitality in a central location. Louisville is a very walkable city and the Seelbach is in a great location right next to music and entertainment complex 4th Street Live! and only a couple blocks from where many of Louisville’s museums and cultural attractions are located. Additionally, American Style magazine consistently votes Louisville one of the “Top 25 Best American Cities for Art.”

Come wash down a famous Hot Brown sandwich with a bourbon cocktail. Buy art from the 750 artists that make up the St. James Court Art Show, then build some brain power by joining fellow art fair alums, artists, and show directors at the fifth Arts Festival Conference.
