Event Summary
5th Annual Celebration of Art at the Uptown Art Expo - March 25-26th, 2017!

The streets along beautiful and newly renovated Cranes Roost Park at Uptown Altamonte in Altamonte Springs/Orlando, Florida will come alive with artisans showcasing their talents, color and music. The free admission Art Festival is limited to ony 150 juried art & fine crafts with displays of glass, jewelry, mosaics, paintings, photography, pottery and sculpture.

Creative Artists join us at the Uptown Art Expo, festival offers artists a beautiful world class setting with easy access set-up, free adjacent parking, overnight security and cash awards/ribbons will be presented.

The Uptown Art Expo will be strongly promoted throughout Central Florida media including Magic 107.7, WMMO 98.9, WLOQ, Orlando Sentinel and Orlando Magazine.  The Orlando Art & Living Expo, Inc., is a non-profit whose mission to bring art & music together, and enhance the quality of life in Central Florida.

General Information
Uptown Art Expo - March 25-26th, 2017.

Expo Art Show hours are from 10-7:30pm Saturday, 10-5pm Sunday.

Cranes Roost Park at Uptown Altamonte in Altamonte Springs/Orlando, Florida will come alive with artisans showcasing their talents, color and music. The Art Festival will feature 150 art & fine crafts with displays of glass, jewelry, mosaics, paintings, photography, pottery and sculpture and more. The festival will also include children’s activities, chalk painting competition, festival eats, music & street performers.

The Uptown Art Expo will be strongly promoted throughout Central Florida Media – Magic 107.7, WMMO 98.9, WLOQ, WMFE 90.7, Orlando Sentinel & Orlando Magazine.

The Orlando Art & Living Expo, Inc., is a non-profit corporation whose mission to bring art and music together, and enhance the quality of life in Central Florida.

Deadline
Our Jurying is ongoing and all applications must be submitted by February 16th, 2017. Notification of acceptance will be done by email. If you are accepted into the show, the booth fee must be paid no later than fourteen (14) days of acceptance to avoid cancellation on the artists’ behalf.  Payment deadline is Februaury 28th, 2017. Booth assignments are completed as payment is received. A $75 administrative fee will be charged for cancellations made prior to January 31, 2017. No refunds will be made for Artist cancellations after January 31, 2017, for any reason. No refunds will be offered for cancellation of the event due to rain or acts of god.

Judging
Judging will be held Saturday, March 25th, 2015 from 10 am till completion. Our judging team will consist of two independent judges. Awards are presented solely at the discretion of the judges and Awards will be presented at the winning artists’ booths at about 5pm.

2 - Award of Excellence - $1,000
4 - Award of Distinction - $500

4 - Award of Merit - $350

Jurying
Artists must submit (2) digital images of their artwork and (1) digital image of their booth display  (three images total) for category entered.
 

Rules/Regulations
Exhibits
An accepted application and payment of the booth fee is a commitment to display your work during all scheduled hours of the show. Displays must be professional and all tents must be white. Ribbons from other shows may not be displayed. The approved artist/exhibitor will occupy his/her booth at all times. No subletting or sharing of space is permitted.

Artists/Exhibitors are responsible for supplying their own tents and for making their tents are sturdy against the wind, rain & crowds. Booths require a minimum of 30-40lbs of weight on each support leg of your booth. Tents must be manufactured with flame-retardant materials. Staking into the pavement will not be permitted. City of Altamonte Springs Fire Dept. may request to see a fire extinguisher. Failure to provide required display equipment, Exhibitor will be asked to leave.

Booth assignments are at the sole discretion of the Art Festival management. The artist’s/exhibitor’s space shall be occupied by 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the show, you will be considered a no show and your space may be given away with no refund or credit. All vehicles must be removed from the show area by 9:30 a.m., unless otherwise specified. Setup and breakdown times will be strictly enforced. No closing of booth before the scheduled closing time on Sunday.

Each exhibitor is solely responsible for collecting the applicable 7% sales tax and filing the report with the local department of revenue. Expo reserves the right to prorate the artist awards in the event the festival does not sell out.
 

Booth Information

Artwork
All work must be original, hand-crafted, created and exhibited by the approved artists/exhibitors themselves and must be attributed solely to a displaying artist. No mass-produced items, imports, or buy-resale will be accepted or displayed in the art section. This rule is strictly enforced. All works must be for sale or available for commission. Prints will be allowed of limited quantity of offset prints, giclees, and reproduced work and must be clearly labeled as such. All applicants’ work will be reviewed, juried or screened prior to acceptance.

Set-Up Booth
Uptown Art Expo set-up information and final confirmed booth locations will be emailed to all artists by the end Feburary. Festival set-up time will start on Friday March 24th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for assigned booth locations and first thing Saturday morning from 6:15 am until 9:30 am, for all remaining booth locations. These will be the only times an artist will be allowed access to the booth space to unload. No artists/exhibitors’ vehicles will not be allowed on site after the setup times specified above.

Once “unloaded” exhibitors are required to park off site in the free adjacent artist parking area to allow other exhibitors to unload and set up.

There is free parking options for exhibitors adjacent to the festival site.

All artist/exhibitors must check in at the registration booth to sign the required release and obtain a booth assignment and identification card before they set up their exhibit. A booth identification card must be attached to the upper left corner of the display space at all times during the show.

Overnight Security will be provided on Friday and Saturday nights.

Pets
Cranes Roost Park does not allow pets; please do not bring any pets to the festival site.
