Event Summary
Midtown Art in the Park is held every April on the grounds of historic Elizabeth Baldwin Park in centrally located Midtown Houston. The area is known for its many attractions, including picturesque park spaces, long standing arts organizations, public art, and is a State of Texas designated Cultural Arts & Entertainment District.

For 2017, we are planning for approximately 5,000 visitors to join us in a beautiful wooded park just blocks away from transportation options and major freeways.

This event is coordinated and underwritten by the Midtown Cultural Arts & Entertainment District.
Our goals include:
  • Coordinating a well organized festival.
  • Produce a good experience for both artists and visitors.
  • Provide a clean and well maintained environment for exhibiting fine artists and fine craftsmen.
  • Creatively market to a wide range of potential buyers.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, April  1, 2017
The rain date is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2017
***If both of these dates are inclement weather days NO OTHER date will be selected for the 2017 Spring Festival Season.

Medium categories are used by arts festivals as a tool for organizing artist’s images into logical, related groups for review. While a balanced show that equitably showcases both works of fine art and fine contemporary craft, as well as diversity among medium, is a principal objective, there is no quota or entitlement by medium category. We will, however, reserve the right to limit certain participants. For example, we always have a large number of jewelry artists who would like to participate.  We will limit the number of certain medium participants in order to preserve continuity in the festival.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS OR CASH

All applications are made through Zapplication
We do not accept applications made through US Post

Individual booth assignments are made to create an appealing mix of media. Assignments are at the sole discretion of the Art in the Park committee and are not interchangeable or transferable. We work to keep our booth fees reasonable for our participating artists.

Artists may share a booth so long as both artists have qualified by jury process individually and both artists pay the $25 non refundable application fee to participate in the festival. Full booth payment must come from a single artist.

Once an artist is selected for participation you will be eligible to purchase an assigned:

Single booth 10x12 space for $100.
Or a Double booth 20x24 space, with the 20 foot side facing the walking path for $150.

Priority for booth assignments is given to the returning artists.

It is the artist’s responsibility to provide all items needed to create a pleasing display. Midtown Houston does not provide tents. We work very hard to create a sense of destination with an appealing atmosphere. If you are bringing your own tent it MUST BE WHITE.

If you need a white tent booth setup we can put you in touch with our rental company. Payments and arrangements for the setup are between the artist and rental company.
