Rules/Regulations
RULES & REQUIREMENTS
Artists may jury in more than one category, but not with the same artwork. Artists may jury more than once in the same category as long as the work is substantially different.

Artists wishing to exhibit work produced in more than one media category must submit a jury fee for each category (up to 3).  Please note: it is no longer necessary to create a new profile for each category on Zapplication - simply repeat the application process for each additional category you are applying in (up to 3 categories per artist).  Only one application may be submitted per body of work represented. Multiple applications must represent either work in different media categories or distinctly separate bodies of work within one category. No advantage is gained by submitting multiple applications for the same body of work in multiple categories. Artists whose work is selected in multiple categories must still exhibit in one booth space.

All work exhibited must be original art produced by the accepted artist but can also include artist’s original limited editions. Only original artwork and limited edition prints may be displayed and/or offered for sale. Prints must be produced in signed, limited editions, which are clearly marked as reproductions.

All work shown must be for sale.

All two-dimensional work must be framed, matted or stretched.

Ceramic works must be handmade by the artist. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed, each piece must be signed.

Only artists accepted in the jewelry category may display and sell jewelry.

Additionally, jewelry may only be submitted for jury in the jewelry category.

Artists must be present during all art festival hours unless given a short break by volunteers.
Artists are responsible for proper insurance and protection of their work and display items, including display booth. Downtown Boulder will not be responsible for damage due to weather or unrelated incidents.

Artist will be responsible for transporting work to and from the show on time. Neither Downtown Boulder nor any sponsor assumes responsibility for loss or damage. We suggest all artists wishing to protect artwork insure their entries independently.

Artists who do not have a City of Boulder sales tax license have the option of paying their sales tax to a Downtown Boulder representative on Sunday afternoon, July 16, at the conclusion of the show and it will be remitted on your behalf. You will have the option of paying only City sales tax or City, State and County sales tax in this manner. Sales Tax rates, a form and receipt will be provided.  Sales tax must be paid to a Downtown Boulder representative before you leave the show in order for us to remit it on your behalf.  Should you fail to remit at this time, Downtown Boulder will be unable to pay the sales tax on your behalf and you will have to obtain City of Boulder and/or State of Colorado sales tax licenses in order to remit the appropriate taxes independently.

The location of your booth is at the discretion of Downtown Boulder.

Booth spaces cannot be shared. No exceptions.

Each artist must provide their own white tent with white sides, display and equipment. Exceptions to siding may be made for sculpture.

Exhibitors must provide weights to secure tents to flat paved area.

Artist must be in booth all hours of the festival, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, except for breaks.

All parts of the display must fit within the limits of the assigned area.

Artist is responsible for keeping their assigned area clean and will not attach anything to Pearl Street facilities.

Artist cannot display material depicting explicit violence or sexual conduct. Downtown Boulder, Inc. will be the final arbiters on the appropriateness of artwork.

Art, created in a medium not juried into the show, will be asked to be taken from the display.

Downtown Boulder reserves the right to remove any exhibitor, without refund, who is not in compliance with the above stated rules and eligibility.

SALES TAX
All sales will be transacted directly between the artist and the buyer and all exhibitors must collect sales tax on all purchases.
