Belgravia Court is a section of the St James Court Art Show which was ranked Ranked the #1 Fine Art and Craft show in the country by Sunshine Artist magazines "200 Best" list, September 2011. Always held the first full weekend of October, this fine art and craft show is held in the heart of historic Old Louisville neighborhood among the largest collection of Victorian homes in the country.
100's of fine artists and craftspeople from throughout North America and several foreign countries converge the first full weekend of October for the St James Court Art Show. Ranked the #1 Fine Art and Design Show in the country by Sunshine Artist Magazines "200 Best List", September 2012, this autumn tradition draws 100,000 + visitors (per Louisville Metro Police Department) who come to purchase unique handcrafted items directly from the hands that crafted them.
The show is held in the heart of historic Old Louisville, which boasts one of the largest collection of Victorian homes in the country. Old Louisville is an elegant backdrop for this display of fine arts and crafts, which will be exhibited and sold along St James Court, Belgravia Court, Magnolia Avenue and the adjacent blocks of Third and Fourth Streets.
Event organizers work diligently to cater to all artistic preferences and budgets. The result is a tasteful selection of high-quality original works that include 16 medium categories: clay, crafts, fiber, glass, jewelry, images 2D, leather, metal, photography, printmaking, sculpture, wood. Proceeds from the show fund various community charities, college art scholarships and neighborhood maintenance and restoration.
Admission is free, and this outdoor event is held rain or shine. No pets, please.
The 61st annual show is scheduled for October 6th, 7th, and 8th, 2017. There is a mandatory set-up day on Thursday October 5th; booth set up hours are from 8:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. Show hours are from 10a.m.to 6p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 10:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
FEES and DEADLINES:
APPLICATION FEES: A non-refundable processing fee of $40.00 is due and payable with Zapplication. One application per medium category. Applications must be submitted through www.zapplication.org by midnight MST, April 30, 2017. BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THAT ALL INFORMATION IS CORRECT, ESPECIALLY YOUR MEDIUM CATEGORY.
JURY: All artist communication and notification will be handled through Zapp. Please make sure the email address that you provided on Zapp is current and correct.
BOOTH FEES: Booth fees are $575 for a single space. Corners have an additional fee. There are very limited double and corner spaces. Booth fees are payable by June 30, 2017. Booth Fee payments can be made on Zapp or by sending a Check or Money order into our office. Our address is: Belgravia Art Show, 511 Belgravia Court, Louisville, KY 40208.
SALES TAX: Kentucky law requires collection of a 6% sales tax on all sales made during the Art Show.
GENERAL INFORMATION: The art show is produced by a consortium of 4 neighborhood groups and a church. Each section is responsible for its own exhibit space/exhibitors, which total 750 artists spread over 5 blocks. You may apply to any or all of the sections (applications are not shared between groups), but participation is limited to one section during a show year. The information herein pertains to the Belgravia Court section. OTHER SECTIONS ARE USING ZAPPLICATION SO PLEASE BE AWARE OF WHICH SHOW YOU ARE APPLYING TO. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR APPLICATION FEES SENT TO THE WRONG SECTION.
JURY PROCESS: The Belgravia section of the art show is juried annually in April by 5 individuals. These individuals are all from the Kentucky/Indiana region and have an extensive background in art either personally or professionally. The scoring system used is 1 to 7. All 3 images plus a booth shot are viewed. Invitations to exhibit are issued each year based on jury scores. The Wait List is comprised only of artists who have gone through the current year's jury process. The show reserves the right to accept or reject any new or returning exhibitor. All accepted artists are required to be in attendance all three days of the show. Belgravia Court allows no vendors.
