Event Summary
We are excited to invite you to apply to the 13th Annual Barefoot In The Park, Juried Fine Arts Festival held over Mother’s Day Weekend, May 13-14, 2017. We will be at our beautiful location at the Buford Town Park. Just 9 minutes from The Mall of GA full of restaurants, hotels and entertainment.  Expect abundant crowds, a family-friendly environment with an upscale vibe.  Artist Award Money will be given.  Enjoy a comfortable artists’ hospitality suite with food and drinks; easy load-in and load-out; and free access to parking. There will be a free concert Saturday night at 7pm on the main concert stage.  We are promoting the concert goers come early to walk the festival, so feel free to keep your booth open for additional sales opportunity.  It’s one of Metro Atlanta’s most exciting, accessible spring arts events in an affluent, upscale neighborhood and surrounding communities.  Our application deadline is March 1st, so apply now!  Voted - Winner Arts Partnership Award, Best Artistic/Cultural Arts, Best Local Festival and Best Downtown Event in our area.  Barefoot is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization supporting arts education in our community.  Proceeds from our show are granted to students as scholarships to help further their arts education.  Barefoot has granted over $60,000 in student scholarships.  You won’t want to miss this event!

General Information
MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND! 13th Annual Barefoot In The Park is a Juried Fine Arts Festival held over Mother's Day weekend, May 13-14, 2017  Artist Setup Friday from 8am-6:30pm & Saturday from 8am-9:30am, Show times Saturday, 10am-6pm and Sunday, 10am-5pm.  

Medium Categories accepted: Ceramics, Drawing, Fiber, Folk Art, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Mixed Media, Painting (Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor), Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Wood.

All artists' work and their presentation is evaluated before acceptance to this event. Applications will be reviewed anonymously by a panel of judges. All work you plan to exhibit should be represented in your images with descriptions that will be ready for the jury process. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be emailed thru Zapplication in mid March.  A waiting list based on the next highest scores in each medium will be created and you will be notified thru Zapplication. No Refunds of Booth Fees received after April 1 st.  Work needs to be consistent with your images. No commercially-produced molds, patterns, or castings. No dried flower arrangements. No manufactured belts, buckles, handbags, etc. No ready-made clothing, even if "enhanced" through various media (such as tie-die, painting, or applique, etc).  You will be asked to remove any artwork not consistent with the style or quality presented in your applicaiton. Artists must be present to display work. No commercial agents, dealers or salespeople are allowed to tend artwork. Photo ID of artist is required upon arrival. We provide golf carts and drivers to take you to and from your vehicle during the festival.  We provide booth sitters for your convenience. The Artist Hospitality Suite is loaded with food, drinks and a relaxing environment. Each artist and one guest will receive complimentary breakfast and lunch with snacks throughout the day Saturday and Sunday. Last year's award winners are automatically accepted into this year's show, please contact us at info@barefootinthepark.org or 678-677-0172 for special code to apply online.  You will not need to send images or jury fees, only booth fee.

Artist award money will be given. The show will be judged Saturday morning and the winners will receive ribbons and their award check brought to them at their booth Saturday afternoon.

Camper/RV day parking is not available on-site; If you will need overnight accomodations, you can go to www.exploregwinnett.org to find many hotel/motel options in the Mall of GA area.

Artists are responsible for collection of 6% Georgia Sales Tax and reporting all sales tax collected. The show is in Gwinnett County.

Donations of artwork to our silent auction will help support the Barefoot In The Park Arts Education Scholarship Fund.  We are a 501C3 non profit organization and all proceeds from our event are granted back to non profit arts and cultural organizations as scholarships for students wanting to further their arts education. Every year we get 100% participation from our Artists. This donation is greatly appreciated.

Art Release: I hereby release and forever discharge Barefoot In The Park, Inc. Arts Festival, the City of Buford, sponsoring organizations, and their directors, officers, employees, agents, and volunteers from any responsibility, personal liability, claims, loss or damage arising out of or in conjuction with my participation in Barefoot In The Park, Inc. Arts Festival. Additionally, Barefoot In The Park, Inc. is not responsible for any injury sustained by exhibitors or guests while within space that may be assigned to me. By submitting this application, I acknowledge having read the Barefoot In The Park, Inc. Arts Festival, rules and agree to abide by all rules set forth herein and on this application, as well as the laws of Gwinnett County and the State of Georgia. I agree that images submitted for jurying are representative of work to be exhibited and that the Festival reserves the right, in its sole descretion, to advise me of any work that does not meet the standards set forth, and I agree that such work will be immediately removed upon request by the officials. Failure to remove such work or to abide by other rules set forth may result in my removal from the Festival without refund of fees, and/or my being prohibited from future participation.
 
Reproduction Policy: In an effort to be fair to our artist and forthright with the customers of our festival, we ask your cooperation in the following policies: All original work displayed must be produced by the exhibiting artist and must be consistent with the images submitted with your application. You will be asked to remove any artwork not consistent with the style or quality presented in your applicaiton. Any works of art, which are produced by any mechanical means i.e. giclees, photo-offset, or any other reproduction technique must be labeled a "reproduction" and placed in browse bins. Framed reproductions must be less than 50% of works hanging in your booth. By following this policy all artists will be able to offer a variety of artwork at various price points and the buying public will be better informed. This show will be monitored for compliance to the policy. Our reproduction policy does not apply to photographers.
 
Vendor Damage Clause: Vendor agrees to accept all responsibility for all costs associated with any and all damage caused by the transportation, preparation, construction, operation and removal of any and all aspects of Vendor's equipment utilized at the Barefoot In The Park, Inc. Arts Festival. Such acceptance shall include, but not limited to, damage by vendor's employees, agents or contractors to any third party damages to property or persons, including but not limited to sidewalks, trees, roadways, irrigation systems, water systems, sewer systems, light poles, bridges, grass, electrical power sources and delivery systems which may be owned or operated by the City of Buford. Vendor further indemnifies and agrees to hold harmless the Barefoot In The Park, Inc. Arts Festival, from any of the aforementioned damages which under the direct supervision, or at the construction, operation, and removal of the Vendor's equipment.


Booth Information
Each artist are responsible for their own display booth. Booth fees for a 10x10 tent is $200 and a double booth is $400 with a $20 Jury Fee.  All tents must be 10'X10' canopy tents; no stake down, at least 25 lb. weights on each leg.  You will have back of booth storage.  Electrical hook-up is available upon request. The set-up and breakdown procedure will be emailed to you once selected for the show.  Security will be provided from 7pm Friday night until 7pm Sunday night. Please be prepared for inclement weather, event goes on rain or shine.

Each artist and one guest will receive complimentary breakfast and lunch with snacks throughout the day Saturday and Sunday from 8am-4pm.
