Event Summary

The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge invites you to apply to the Ebb & Flow Festival as a juried artist.  The Ebb & Flow Festival will celebrate the capital region’s cultural, economic, and ecological connection to the Mississippi River and all things that ebb and flow. The two-day Baton Rouge festival will be replete with extraordinary live music, visual arts, exciting culinary offerings, public art, artist demonstrations, multidisciplinary/performance art, and interactive art and cultural experiences to intrigue and satisfy art lovers of all ages.

Application
Each artist is required to submit 6 images (5 images of work and 1 booth shot), and a complete application per medium along with a $30 NON-REFUNDABLE jury fee. If a booth shot is not available, submit an image taken of a grouping of works representative of the works to be exhibited at the show. The purpose of the booth image is to demonstrate how the artist displays their work, ensures the artist has a complete body of work, and also helps identify the scale of the work.

All award winners from the previous year must register through Zapplication. Special instructions with a coupon code will be emailed to enable FestForAll 2016 award winners to register for their complimentary booth and/or exempt jury status. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

A wait list may be selected from the jury's scores, and wait listed artists are invited as cancellations occur.  

Rules/Regulations

Eligibility
The Ebb & Flow Festival is open to all artists 18 years of age or older living in the U.S. Only original work created by the Applicant Artist may be submitted. Only media submitted for review and accepted by the jury can be presented and sold at the Ebb & Flow Festival. Two artists may apply together only if both artists collectively produce the artwork. Include a clear description of each artist’s involvement. Photography must be from the Applicant Photographer’s original negative or original digital image and produced or supervised by the Applicant Photographer. The photographs must be archival quality. Printed works must be produced from hand manipulated screens, plates, or stones by the Applicant Printmaker.

Ineligible Items
The following items are ineligible: any commercially produced items or manufactured items that have been assembled; items made from store-bought kits or molds; T-shirts, unless specifically approved by the jury; CDs; and audio/video tapes. Offset printing, to include reproductions such as giclee, digital reproductions, postcards, calendars, and posters of the Applicant Artist’s originals must comprise 30% or less of the artwork in the booth and must be clearly identified as such.

General Rules
  • All work must be original, produced by the artist and signed. 
  • Wearable art and fine crafts must be of original design and individually made. 
  • Artist must be present with their work at the event.
  • Artists must display their work and staff their booth during all selling hours of the event.  Tents may not be dismantled during event operating hours.
  • It is the Artist's responsibility to identify the category for which they would like to be juried.  Please choose the category which best describes your work.  If you do not choose a category (medium) your application will not be processed.
  • All tent structures must be white and professional quality.
  • Artists will not be admitted after check-in hours.  Refunds will not be given to late-comers or no shows.
  • No pets allowed.
  • Any artist or vendor perceived as exhibiting rude behavior and/or creating a hostile environment will be required to pack up and leave the festival site and will forfeit their eligibility for future participation.


Booth Information

Booth Requirements
  • Artists must provide a 10 ft. x 10 ft. tent.
  • Tents must be white and must be properly weighted.  Milk Jugs with water or sand, bricks or other items are not considered proper weights for your tent.  Please be sure to check with the manufacturer of your tent for correct setup and proper weighting techniques.  Any tent that is deemed by the committee as unsuitable or unsafe will have one chance to fix the issue before being dismissed from the festival without refund.
  • Accepted artists will receive an information packet regarding festival layout, site assignment, setup procedure and other pertinent information prior to the festival.  
  • Not all booth locations are perfectly level due to slight street surface variations. Exhibitors are advised to bring leveling devices for table displays. Exhibitors MUST be prepared for any inclement weather including the possibility of high winds, with appropriate rain covers, tie-downs and weights.

Booth fee
$200 booth payment is due Friday, February 24, 2017. Booth fees are to be paid by check, money order, or by credit card online through Zapplication.
