Now in its 46th year, The People's Fair draws over 200,000 fair-goers to Civic Center Park and becomes Colorado's third largest city over the weekend of the festival! For two days, the streets are closed and filled with Arts & Crafts, music, delicious food, families and friends as the people of Colorado celebrate this annual Rite of Summer!
The Fine Art Avenue will occupy the length of 14th Street between Bannock and Broadway right in front of the Denver Art Museum. We invite all artists to apply.

General Information

Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, (CHUN) and Team Player Productions are excited to announce that effective immediately, the production of the Capitol Hill People's Fair will be managed by Team Player Productions (TPP).
TPP is known regionally and nationally as a top event production company, having created and produced events of all sizes benefiting nonprofit organizations as well as for-profit companies. Events such as the Taste of Fort Collins, Breckenridge Wine Classic, and the Divide Music Festival are just a few of the large-scale events created and produced by TPP.
After 45 years of rich community tradition and the inherent challenges of producing an annual event on this scale, it became apparent that it was time for some fundamental improvements for the People’s Fair, prompting the CHUN board to opt out of producing the People's Fair in 2017. With a bold vision for the event’s future, Team Player Productions has agreed to take on the cost of production, and has hired long-time CHUN Assistant Director Andrea Furness to be the People's Fair Event Director. CHUN will remain the charitable beneficiary of the event.
“We are extremely excited to be a part of this long-standing tradition in Denver”, states Jason Ornstein, President of Team Player Productions.  “The People’s Fair is one of the first large scale festivals created in Denver and it represents the diversity that makes Denver such a vibrant community.  We did not want to see the People’s Fair leave the Denver landscape and only want to further this great community festival and build upon the terrific work that CHUN has created.”

2017 Artist Prospectus and Application

This show will be chosen by a panel of highly qualified, talented and experienced jurors. The jurors will view the five images on calibrated monitors. The jurors will have access to the Artist Statements. All participants in the 2017 show will be chosen by this jury with the exception of up to 10% of the exhibitors who may be named by the Festival Director for purposes of creating a balanced show.

Please review the Exhibitor Application Guide before you complete an application for the 2017 Capitol Hill People’s Fair.

All work under this application must be 100% original and produced by the exhibiting artist. Reproductions or prints of applicant’s original art may be sold, but should represent a percentage of the total work on display. Work done by a production studio, is machine made or mass produced is not acceptable under this application. No machine tooling, machine-screened patterns, no factory produced wearable items, regardless of additional modification or enhancement by the artist, no jewelry commercial casts, molds or production studio work is allowed under this application. All work must be designed and executed by the accepted artist.

Fine Art application categories include: Ceramics, Digital, Drawings/Graphics, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry (all parts original), Leather, Metal, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Wood

**Fine Art applicants will be juried separate from the Hand Crafted applicants.

Like last year, Fine Art vendors will be placed on “Fine Art Avenue” and recognized accordingly.

If an applicant is juried into the fair and later found to have violated the required rules found in the exhibitor application guide and the application, the applicant will be asked to leave the fair, no refund will be granted and the applicant may not be considered for future fairs.

***The People's Fair staff reserves the right to question production of items and request receipts for raw materials.*** LIABILITY RELEASE

  • All exhibitors agree to abide by all policies, procedures, guidelines, fee schedules and operations relating to the People’s Fair (PF). Neither Team Player Production, Inc (TPP) nor the PF are responsible for any damages or loss.
  • Exhibitor hereby indemnifies and agrees to hold harmless TPP and the PF, their officers, members, staff and agents, the City and County of Denver, the State of Colorado, and the owners of any PF related property, against all claims, liabilities, damages and expenses (including expenses of litigation and attorneys’ fees) asserted against or incurred by Exhibitor arising in whole or in part out of Exhibitor’s activities hereunder.
  • Exhibitor understands that only minimal security will be provided overnight, so all goods of value should be removed from the grounds. TPP is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Exhibitor agrees that TPP may revoke immediately all of the rights of the exhibitor, his/her agents or his/her employees to exhibit space at the PF for violation of any policy, rule or procedure.
  • Exhibitor acknowledges that all information provided in the application for exhibitor space is true and correct. No imported or commercially manufactured items will be allowed for sale as arts and crafts items at the PF. Efforts will be made to honor specific space requests to the degree possible; however, PF Management reserves the right to place exhibitors in accordance with the best interest of the PF.
  • By applying, exhibitor acknowledges that s/he has read and understands all the policies and procedures outlined herein and in the PF application and fee schedule and it is agreed that all information included in this document is part of this contract and no other agreement shall be binding upon the parties unless in writing and signed by the Executive Director of TPP. 

Accepted artists will need to carry liability insurance—if you don’t have it, we will have an option for you and will include that info in your acceptance letter.

Booth Information

Artists may request a specific booth or area and/or a corner booth on their application. These requests will be assigned on a first-come, first served basis from the date their application is received. Booth requests for specific locations that an artist had in the previous year made by returning, invited or award winners will be given priority when possible. We are usually able to honor most booth requests.
BOOTH FEE - $395
Each exhibitor will be provided a space measuring 10' deep by 10' wide. Artists are to provide their own canopy (unless you're using a *rental), display panels, racks and/or tables in order to exhibit their work in an outdoor festival.
*We will include a rental order form with your acceptance letter.
