Created more than 20 years ago by area artists who wanted to display their work along the Codorus Creek in historic Downtown York, Yorkfest has grown into a fine arts festival weekend, showcasing the works of 100 artists from around the country to affluent art lovers from Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Central Pennsylvania. Several cash prizes awarded, including Best in Show, Award of Excellence, Best New Artist, six Awards of Distinction, and a People's Choice. Our show features advance show advertising, festival t-shirt, and an exhibitor continental breakfast included in booth fee.
Yorkfest Fine Arts Festival takes place in downtown York, Pennsylvania, on August 26-27, 2017. This year's opening reception and juried exhibition awards will take place Friday, August 25, at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum, 217 West Princess Street, York, PA 17401.
Participation is limited to 100 exhibitors chosen by an independent panel of talented, high-quality 2-D and 3-D artists. New 2017 participants will be chosen by a jury panel.
Artists who participated in 2016 do not need to be juried.
All work must be original and created by exhibitor or artist. Prints or reproductions of artist work are acceptable. Artists may only show work in the categories they were juried into, or accepted in. Decisions of jurors are final. Fine art work and fine craft work in the following media are acceptable: painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, mixed media, clay, glass, fiber, wood, metal, paper, and jewelry.
Please submit a jury fee for each category submitted. Decisions of jurors are final.
All accepted exhibitors must provide a valid PA Sales Tax number at the time of booth acceptance. You may indicate "pending--will apply upon acceptance" at the time of applying.
Applications for jurying must be submitted on or before May 17, 2017.
All accepted applicants will be notified by June 2, 2017.
Booth space is assigned on a first-come, first served basis (returning artists may request same space as previous year or a new location).
Artists who are new to Yorkfest and desire to obtain a site location must submit an image of booth display and three images representative of the work that will be executed and sold, along with a completed application form. Images may be emailed, supplied on a CD, or submitted via Zapplication. Accepted exhibitors from last year’s Yorkfest do not need to submit images or the jury fee so long as the booth display and works of art are similar to the past year.
Cash prizes include Best in Show, Best New Artist, six Awards of Excellence, and a People's Choice Award.
PLEASE NOTE: The City of York prohibits pets within special event areas. Please do not bring pets with you to Yorkfest.
Single Booth (15' x 10') - $175.00
Double Booth (30' x 10') - $285.00
No booth fees will be refunded due to inclement weather. No refunds will be made for any cancellations after July 15, 2017.
Current members of Creative York, York Art Association, York Town Craft Guild, and Hanover Area Arts Guild receive a 10% discount on booth fees. Please indicate if you are a member of one of these organizations.
Sites are approximately 15 feet wide by 10 feet deep. A limited number of double spaces are
available. No electricity is provided. Exhibitors should be prepared to adapt to outdoor exhibiting and for inclement weather. Yorkfest is open rain or shine. Artists must provide their own display materials. Booths may be occupied by more than one artist, as long as both artists are juried. Booth spaces in the Colonial Courthouse Courtyard and along the Rail/Trail are on grass. Booth spaces along Pershing Avenue are on concrete. Artists are encouraged to set up on Friday, August 25, during the hours of 12 noon to 5 p.m.
