Event Summary

Celebration of the Arts, (COA) now in its 34th year, has been totally re-imagined for 2017, and will take place at the Wall Street Lofts and Main Street in downtown, Midland, Texas. COA benefits the Arts Council of Midland. COA is the longest running, annual event held in downtown Midland. COA has a strong reputation locally - with community support year after year - and draws out of town visitors. Fine Art is the centerpiece of the festival. COA also hosts local entertainers; non-profit arts organizations; a range of children's activities; regional writers as well as food; and special events each year. Friday night, May 5, a Premier Party showcasing visual artists is an annual party for art lovers; Saturday & Sunday, May 6 – May 7, artists are the focal point of weekend activities for children and adults alike, with many family attractions.

Celebration of the Arts is presented by the Arts Council of Midland, a non-profit arts agency committed to enriching lives with the arts through community-wide advocacy, education, outreach and promotion!  Proceeds from Celebration of the Arts festival makes funding available for educational and community arts programing.
Three unique spaces await artists and visitors to The Lofts, with a variety of booth sizes available.  Each space is linked to The Lofts property and will create moving traffic patterns for visitors to tour, linger and enjoy.  Three of the spaces are indoors and a fourth option is located out-of-doors on Main Street just steps from The Lofts property.  Either location you choose will be a part of the festivities COA weekend!  Please note: Commission is not charged on artist sales; only a flat booth rate.  
ACM will be setting up a group rate at a hotel near the event location.

Exhibiting artists must show only work representative of their digital images submitted. Featured artists must attend COA and work their own booth during COA festival hours. Prints must be signed and numbered by the artist. No photographic reproductions other than actual photographs will be allowed to be exhibited. Limited edition prints executed in processes involving hand work by the artist will be permitted only if they have been signed and numbered within reasonably sized editions (300 or less.) Printmakers and photographers are strongly encouraged to do their own printing. Work produced with commercial, kits, molds, patterns, or plans, prefabricated forms or other commercial methods are not permitted.  All two-dimensional work must, at least, be matted, and preferably framed.
Please submit three digitally formatted images of three different works (not three views of the same image). On entry form, include the following information: Title, media, date executed, and price. Do not send photographs or slides. Entry fee is $25.00. Arts Council reserves the right to use any image submitted from any artist for promotional purposes. Artists will be emailed a notification of acceptance, rejection or alternate status by April 12, 2017. Cancellations must be received by April 18, 2017.
Arts Council will provide Artist’s Hospitality through out the weekend. 

Artists accepted into COA are required to give a piece of their artwork (originals only) with a minimum retail value of $100. Artists must e-mail an image of the silent auction donation along with media, dimensions, title and price if accepted by April 15, 2017 to the ACM office, for promotional advertising. Works must be presented by the artist to the COA representatives upon arrival during booth assignments. Minimum bids will be listed on auction items based upon your information. Prints are not accepted for silent auction requirement unless the artist is a photographer. Silent Auction proceeds go to ACM. All two-dimensional auction items must be framed...matted work will not be accepted.

Booth Information
This year, we are offering booths both indoors as well as outside to help meet artist's preferences. Unique "loft" type spaces are available inside which have concrete floors. Outdoor spaces will be located under high-ceilinged tents on pavement. All artists booth fees include electricity, a table and one chair.

Artists may share a booth if individually juried into COA and each artist will pay an additional $75 fee.

All sales, sales tax and credit card transactions are the responsibility of the exhibitor. Arts Council takes no commission for sales made during COA.

Space assignments are at the sole discretion of Arts Council of Midland management and are not interchangeable.  Arts Council of Midland management will attempt to honor any request but cannot make guarantees - PLEASE NOTE: Booth assignments are first come first serve, all paperwork must be received before booth will be assigned.
