The Bend Summer Festival is Central Oregon's longest running arts festival, enjoying its 28th year in Bend. This festival has a large tourist attendance in addition to a strong local audience throughout the weekend. People plan their vacations to Bend around this festival frequently. The festival spans seven (7) city blocks in the heart of Downtown Bend and includes three music stages, a Jazz, Gourmet Food and Wine Street near the Fine Artists Promenade, a family street and a Conscious Living area dedicated to resourceful living. The attendance averages 60,000+ people over the course of the weekend. There is a Friday night kick off concert on the mainstage, and the rest of the festival begins the next morning.

In addition the mediums listed herein, fine art for the garden, hip, quality accessories and clothing for children, musical instruments and upcycled art are spotlights we would like incorporate more this year.
To expedite invitations, this show has a virtual jury who reviews and accepts applications ongoing until the show is filled. A waitlist is managed with communication to the artist by June 30th, 2017 of any open booth positions.
Artist amenities include an indoor breakroom with restrooms, snacks, breakfast items each morning, hot/cold water, coffee/tea service and Wi-Fi access throughout the festival weekend.
There is no booth sharing allowed. Each booth must carry only the artist's handcrafted work that has been approved for inclusion in the festival.
Each artist is required to set up their own 10x10 or 10x20 tent that includes significant weights (cinder blocks) for each tent pole, and all cords must be fully taped down.
Festival commission is 10% of gross sales at the conclusion of the festival, on Sunday, July 9th, 2017. Artists are required to check out, pay by check or cash their festival commission, and are given a check out pass to be able to bring their vehicles on the grounds to load out. Artists are asked to pay the festival a 5% commission on custom orders that are received through the festival.
Receipt books are checked out to each artists at check in, prior to the festival start, and artists are required to complete a written receipt for each sale. These receipt books are tallied during check out. It is the artist's responsibility to ensure that they always have enough receipt books based on sales volume throughout the festival weekend.
Festival artist hours are:
July 8th - 11am - 6pm
July 9th - 11am - 5pm
There are no refunds for applications that are withdrawn. No shows will not be invited to participate in future festivals.
Early Payment Discount (if received by April 30th) - $25
TO ENSURE TIMELY CONFIRMATION FOR ARTISTS PARTICIPATING IN THIS FESTIVAL, ACCEPTANCE AND PAYMENT IS DUE NO LATER THAN April 30th. IF YOU HAVE BEEN INVITED, AND HAVE NOT ACCEPTED OR PAID BY THE 30TH, YOU WILL BE WAITLISTED SO THAT THE SECOND ROUND, OUTSIDE OF THE EARLY REGISTRATION WINDOW CAN BE CONFIRMED.
New Local Artist Sponsorship - 50% discount - This is a sponsorship for 10 (10) new local artists who have not participated in previous festivals. The first ten booth spaces from Central Oregon who are accepted will receive a 50% discount on the booth space.
Arrival information is distributed to invited artisans at the end of June. Booth assignments are given upon arrival. Arrival begins at 6:00am on July 8th and load out begins at 5:30pm on July 9th.
