Event Summary
The Saginaw Riverfront Art Festival at BASH is located in the Riverfront District of Saginaw, Michigan and is coordinated in conjunction with the Bands, Art, Spirits, and Humanity (BASH) Festival. It is in the Hamilton Street corridor, surrounded by historical architecture, hip local businesses, and an up-and-coming art scene.

ADVERTISING

The BASH is providing thousands of dollars in promotional advertising. Target mediums include regional radio, television, and print publications. Additionally, our event is promoted in regional and state news outlets,  posters throughout the Great Lakes Bay Community, in newsletters of participating charitable organizations, the BASH website, and all major social media outlets.

 

ARTIST AMENITIES

  • $850 in prize money. Awards will be given where excellence is determined, regardless of media category. Winners will receive online recognition.

  • Award ribbons are presented to winning artists Sunday morning.

  • Convenient set-up on Friday

  • Drive-up load-in and load-out at booth space.

  • Free exhibitor parking for first vehicle, includes oversized parking.

  • 24-hour security

  • Electricity for booth space available, upon request.

  • Free admission to BASH concerts
 

WITHDRAW/CANCELLATION

  • Deadline for cancellation is July 14, 2017, minus a $20 processing fee.

  • Upon acceptance, booth fees are not refundable. No refunds, for any reason, after July 14, 2017.



Rules/Regulations

ELIGIBILITY

All work must be the creation of the exhibiting artist: the original concept design, style and execution must be attributable solely to the displaying artist(s). All work on display must be consistent with the images submitted. Artists must be 18 years of age or older.
 

APPLICATION PROCESS

By submitting your application to Art at the BASH, you agree to abide by all festival rules and regulations. All artwork exhibited and sold must be original and of the artist’s own creation.

  • Applicants must include an artist statement or technical description of your artwork of 1000 characters or less. The description should include  information that assists the jury process and/or promotional efforts of the BASH committee.  

  • All artists must submit 5 images with their application, including one booth shot.

 

COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS

  • No BUY/SELL ITEMS are allowed in the show.

  • Only hand-constructed wares are to be sold. No commercial products are permitted.

  • The registered exhibitor must have constructed the majority of each item.

  • Show staff may investigate questionable wares; if found to be commercial items, you will be asked to remove those items found in violation and/or removed from the show with NO REFUND.

 

EXPECTATIONS

  • No commercial agents, dealers or manufacturers may attend in place of the artist.

  • All work displayed must be consistent with slides submitted. Any work that is not consistent with the jury images, or does not comply with the standards outlined, may not be exhibited.

  • Artist may not leave the festival early.

 

RESELLING BOOTHS

Booths may NOT be resold by a crafter/artisan at any time. Any indication of a resold booth will result in permanent termination from the current and future shows with no refund.

 

SALES

Artists are responsible for the collection, reporting and payment of all State of Michigan taxes. BASH not require an artist to pay commissions.

 

SECURITY

  • Merchandise is left overnight at your own risk.

  • The BASH will provide limited overnight security both Friday and Saturday nights.

  • You may leave your booth structure intact overnight. We advise you choose a weatherproof structure with weights.

  • The BASH is not responsible for any damages or losses that may occur during these three days.


​SHOW STAFF & ARTIST PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

It should go without saying that there is an expectation of civility, patience and common courtesy at this event. It is our wish that every exhibitor, art patron and volunteer have an enjoyable experience at the BASH. When accepting the invitation to exhibit at Art @ the BASH, the Artist agrees to abide by all rules of the BASH, state and City of Saginaw. Artist agrees to follow load-in, load-out and parking procedures as well as general festival rules of participation. Exhibitors are expected to cooperate with festival staff and volunteers and be courteous to their neighboring exhibitors. Artists who disrespect or mistreat volunteers, staff, or fellow artists will not be invited back to exhibit at this festival in the future.

 


Booth Information

BOOTH INFORMATION & FEES
All booths, regardless of size, are assigned on a first paid, first served basis.

  • Single booth space is 10’ x 10’ = $250.00  

    $20.00 Nonrefundable Application Fee + $230.00 Booth Fee

  • Double booth space is 10’ x 20’ = $500.00  

    $20.00 Nonrefundable Application Fee + $480.00 Booth Fee

  • Booths are only guaranteed a front opening space.

  • Booths are assigned by the Art at the BASH Art Director

  • Participants must provide their own canopy, display booth, display racks, lights, extension cords, and any booth support materials. No tables or chairs will be provided.

  • 10’ x 10’ tent rental is available for an additional $250 fee.

  • Electricity available upon request


SET-UP INFORMATION

  • All participants must set-up for the festival Friday, August 11, 2017.

  • Set up is by assigned time.

 

CHECK-IN PROCEDURES

  • Photo ID will be required at check-in. Only the accepted, primary artist or collaborator (indicated on artist application).
