Event Summary
The Murals of the Wiregrass Organizaition is proud to present the 4th annual Mural City Art Walk.  This annual event attracts thousands of art patrons and families to beautiful Foster Street in Downtown Dothan Alabama.  Our event attracts people from Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia, and Northern Florida.  We host a juried show with cash prizes for most mediums.  The Mural City Art Walk is one of Dothan's favorite events where citizens come out and enjoy one of the first warm weekends of the year!  Please join us for another great year of art in Downtown Dothan.

General Information
All products for sale must be original, hand-crafted, and well executed. Mural City Art Walk will not accept commercial goods for resale, kits, imported, or consigned goods. Work must be categorized into one of the following:
Fiber
Folk Art
Glass
Metalworking
Miscellaneous
Painting
Paper
Photography
Pottery/Ceramics
Printmaking
Soft Sculpture
Woodworking

AWARDS

Mural City Artist of the Year
One artist will receive the Best of Show Award. The award recipient will be invited to return to the 2019 event at no cost (both the jury fee and single booth fee will be waived), and a cash prize of $250.00

Best of Show
One artist will receive the Best of Show Award. The award recipient will be invited to return to the 2019 event at no cost (both the jury fee and single booth fee will be waived), and a cash prize of $175.00

Honorable Mention

One artist will receive the Best of Show Award. The award recipient will receive $100.00 cash prize
Invitational Artist Awards
 

JURY PROCESS
Submit five images, four that are representative of your work and one that clearly shows your booth. Artwork will be evaluated on the criteria of skill, originality, impact and design. Please do not submit written or printed materials as they will not be considered by the jury. Artwork shown in your booth shot should be representative of your current work.
Images are the sole criteria considered during the jury process; names, prices and residential information are not provided to jurors. Your five images will be viewed simultaneously, side by side.


Rules/Regulations
1. Participation is limited to artists showing their own original works of art. No kits, manufactured items, molds, patterns, or clothing that is not handcrafted. Mural City Art Walk Officials reserve the right to make final decision of eligibility and may ask the artist to remove questionable items from their display.

2. Set-up: Artists may set up on Saturday morning; all vehicles must be out of show area by 9am.

3. Breakdown must not begin before 4:00 pm on Saturday . Breakdown must be completed by 6:00pm when the streets will be reopened to traffic.

4. Each space is an expanded size of 12 feet deep and 12 feet wide. All work should be kept inside this space.

5. Artist’s identification: Each Artist Packet will include on identification card. This card must be prominently displayed in your booth.

6. Each artist is responsible for collecting Alabama sales tax on all sales made during the show.

7. 
“Sale” and/or “Discount” signs are strictly prohibited.

8. There will be NO REFUNDS of booth or jury fees.
 

Booth Information
Size: 12 x 12'......$40  (fee due at time of acceptance to festival)

Mural City Art Walk will provide only the physical space for booths. Exhibitors are responsible for providing tents, tables, or canopies for displays. No electricity is provided; generators are not allowed. There is no WiFi.

All booths include:
  • Friday Night reception with light food and drink
  • Mural City Art Walk T-shirt
  • Murals of the Wiregrass posters and postcards
The festival runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine. No booth fees will be returned in the event of inclement weather.  

Booth Set-up:
The grounds will be open to exhibitors at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 3rd. 

Booth Break-down:
Exhibitors cannot start break down of booths until end of event at 4:00 p.m. No vehicles are allowed on the grounds before 4:15pm.
