This application is for a jury workshop session at the 2018 Arts Festival Conference. The conference will take place Feb. 15-16, 2018, at the DoubleTree Deerfield Beach in Boca Raton, Florida.

The jury workshop session will utilize the projection technology provided by ZAPP®. This is a great opportunity for artists to submit new bodies of work and see how their images appear in the projected jury format. This is also a great opportunity for emerging artists to submit work for review.

THIS IS NOT AN APPLICATION FOR A JURIED ART FESTIVAL. By completing this application, you consent and understand that your images may be displayed and discussed by a panel during a conference session. You also confirm your understanding that feedback may not be provided if you do not attend the session.

Artists in attendance at the conference will be given the first priority. If space permits, other applicant images may be included for discussion.

Rules/Regulations

This is not an application for a juried art festival. This application is to submit your artwork images for a jury workshop session held at the 2018 Conference. By completing this application you consent to have your images displayed and discussed by a panel during a conference session.

1. Artists who apply to this event agree to participate in a public, mock jury critique of the submitted images. Artists will submit their images using this event application. Images may be projected in the room and critiqued by a panel of professionals.

2. Comments made during the public critique may not be made available to artists who are not able to attend the conference.

3. Artist names will remain private. Only the images will be displayed and an Application ID number will be read to the panel. Please do not submit images or booth shots that contain your name or business name.

4. The panel may discuss the following regarding these images, among other areas:

A. Technical and artistic composition

B. Body of work as a whole

C. Samples of work as individual items

D. Image quality

E. Booth shot

4. Please answer the questions on the application as best you can. Indicate if you have specific questions for the panel about your work or the images you use to submit applications.

5. The panel will be comprised of presenters with a variety of backgrounds. Panel members may be artists, event administrators, and jurors.

6. Panel members will be asked to discuss each artist's submission as an individual and not compare to other submissions (unless a comparison is requested by the artist).

7. Panel members will be reminded to discuss each submission appropriately depending upon the level of the entrant. As an example, emerging artist applications should be discussed in terms of what is to be expected of and can be improved upon by an artist at the emerging artist level.

8. Artists in attendance at the conference will be given the first priority. If space and time permit, other applicant images may be included for discussion.

ZAPP® reserves the right to cancel the session at any time. The application deadline for this Portfolio Critique is February 1, 2018.
