Event Summary
Since 1986, the City of Evanston has presented the annual Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival on the third weekend in July in Evanston's stunning, historic lakefront at Dawes & Centennial Park, Sheridan Rd at Church St. The premier event of its kind, the festival is a celebration of cultural diversity featuring over 75 art and crafts vendors from many different regions of the world. The festival has been reimagined for the 21st century and renamed the Evanston World Arts & Music Festival. 

The festival entertainment includes continuous world music and dance, an assortment of ethnic cuisines,and hands-on art activities for all ages.

Evanston is a diverse and thriving community that borders Chicago. The Evanston World Arts & Music Festival is an opportunity for artists, vendors, and performers to share their culture with the estimated 20,000 people who enjoy this annual event.

General Information
Accepted vendors are Artists, Fair Trade, Importers, and Artisans.  The World Arts & Music Festival is open to all fair trade vendors as well as folk and fine artists and artisans whose work offers a unique expression of a cultural community.  Applicants will be asked to describe the cultural heritage and/or artistic influences that inspire their work.

Hospitality Tent
There is a Hospitality Tent open from 8:00am-11:00am on Saturday and 9:00 - 11:00 am Sunday of the festival.  The Hospitality Tent provides provisions for participating artist vendors.  Food and beverage items, such as muffins, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and water will be available. 


The Evanston World Arts & Music Festival is open to all folk and fine artists and artisans whose work expresses a cultural, artistic, or crafting tradition.  The festival organizers encourage community or family-based arts that carry with them a sense of cultural heritage to apply. All entries must demonstrate artistic excellence.

All artwork will be reviewed by a panel with a broad range of expertise. The information you submit should include a description that cites the cultural, artistic, or crafting influences behind your work's concept design, content, mediums, and/or techniques.  Artwork submitted must be identical to artwork that will appear at the festival.

Priority is given to work that is original, handmade and honors fair trade practices. The festival staff reserves the right  to remove any work that differs from accepted artwork.

  • Complete and submit your application with a $35 application fee.
  • If two artists wish to share a booth, each must pay an application fee and apply separately. Following acceptance, artists may request a shared booth.
  • Application images may be reproduced for publicity purposes.
  • Submit four images of your art work.
  • Please note that we only accept payment for the $35 application fee online through ZAPP by debit or credit card.  We will not accept payment by check.

Booth Information

Upon Acceptance:
Upon receipt of the exhibitor fee, your exhibitor packet will be sent on June 12th.  All spaces are 10’ by 10’ in an open, outdoor area.  The fee for one 10’x10’ space is $300.  If you want to exhibit in two spaces, the fee will be $600.  You must furnish your own tent, tables, chairs, display racks, etc.  Only white canopies are permitted.  Tents are available for rental; the name and information of the recommended company will be provided once we have secured them for the festival.  Overnight security is provided.
Cancellation Policy:  Once applications have been submitted no refunds will be available.
Exhibitor registration and set up takes place on Friday from 3:00pm – 7:00pm and on Saturday from 8:00am – 11:00am.
