Event Summary
The 27th Annual Powderhorn Art Fair is a Fine Arts and Fine Crafts Upper Midwest Regional Art Fair. Set in Powderhorn Park, a pastoral 66 acre city park, 190 artists circle around the tree-lined, picturesque Powderhorn Lake. Powderhorn Art Fair is a unique collaboration between the Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. A portion of art fair profits are used to pay for youth programs at Powderhorn Park.

The Powderhorn Art Fair is part of the Minneapolis Arts Weekend for art lovers to enjoy a variety of artists, locations and cultures that nourish Minneapolis neighborhoods.  It has arts performances, food trucks and fun children's activities all weekend. This is truly a multi-cultural and family friendly event. The Powderhorn Art Fair is a sustainable, eco-friendly event striving for zero waste. Free water stations will be on site and all are encouraged to bring their own containers for free, self-service water.

General Information
The Powderhorn Art Fair is a Fine Arts and Fine Crafts Upper Midwest Regional Art Fair that attracts artists from 26 states and 216 cities. There are also seperate areas from the Main Exhibitors for local artists that includes a Community Showcase, Group Exhibitors and Youth Showcase from the Powderhorn area.

There is an artists' lounge in the park building open only to showing artists, staff and volunteers. (ADA accessible) It includes air conditioning, free food and beverages, a relaxed atmosphere and indoor restrooms.

Medium Categories: Clay, Digital Art, Drawing, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal, Mixed Media, Painting, Paper, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Wood (PAF does not accept crafts such as dried flowers, soap, candles, etc)

• PAF uses a “blind” jury of 3 judges. The judges do not know the name of the artist they are viewing. The criteria includes Impact, Style/Design and Technical Skill. * Openings for new artists are available in every category each year.

• Jury Fee for each category entered: $35 (non-refundable)

There are no refunds of booth fees after confirming our invitation to exhibit.

• On Saturday during the fair, judges will review each artist’s work on site. Scores will determine award recipients and exhibitors to be invited back to next year’s show.

• First, Second, Third Place, Honorable Mention, and Spirit of Powderhorn recipients will be invited back with jury and booth fee waived (large booth fee extra).

• 20 invitational award winners will be invited back with jury fee waived but must pay a booth fee.


1 All work must be original, designed and created by the accepted artist as represented by work in the submitted visual samples. Work made with the use of commercial kits, molds incl. green ware or is mass produced, will not be accepted.  Absolutely no buy/sell items.

2 The selected artist’s presence is required on site for the entire show.

3 If your work is in more than one category you must apply separately in each category. Each category will be juried separately and require its own jury fee. A single booth fee will cover accepted categories. You may not be accepted in both categories and will be allowed to show in only one accepted category.

4 Main Exhibitors must be 18 years of age or older.

5 Only one booth space per artist is allowed. Artists may share a booth only if the work is truly collaborative. No double booths.

6 Artists must have their own 10 x 10 tent.

7 Artists must have a Minnesota Tax ID number.

8. Artists must fill out an ST-19 form before showing

* Artists are provided with an 11 x 11 foot space on grass around the lake. One booth space per accepted artist. No double booths.

• There are a limited number of larger booth spaces (15 x 11) available, depending on park conditions, for an additional $50 fee.

• All booth location requests are considered but PAF cannot guarantee your requested placement.

• Display units should be designed for outside use and capable of withstanding the elements.

• Presentation must be reasonably contained in the designated booth space.

• Artists may drive into the park on paved paths and onto the grass area to their booth space for loading & unloading. All booth spaces are on grass by the lake.
