JURY DETAILS

Event Summary
One of Florida's finest juried art shows, the 42nd Annual Maitland Rotary Art Festival is held at Lake Lily Park in Maitland, one of the most affluent suburbs of Orlando, Florida. The 42nd Maitland Rotary Art Festival is honoring our long history by returning to our roots with a daytime festival over two days. The lakeside park is inviting with the cooler November days. With live entertainment, displays and demonstrations from our cultural partners, student art exhibits from our local schools and a Patron Program, the Maitland Rotary Art Festival is one of kind. Only 150 artists will be accepted for a place in this juried show. Hours: 10AM 'till 6PM Saturday and 10AM 'till 5PM on Sunday, surrounding beautiful Lake Lily in Maitland, Florida.

Additional booth space on the street (Maitland Avenue) provides more space on asphalt close to the attendee parking lots. Attendees enter the venue and Lake Lily Park from various entry points as there are no park gates. Expanded media categories will accurately portray the wide variety of artwork in the show.

A robust Patron Program brings in a large number of art enthusiasts. In exchange for their donation to the Patron Program, Patrons receive $200 to spend on art during the show. Artists are able to cash-in the patron dollars at any time during the show.

Rules/Regulations
The 42nd Maitland Rotary Art Festival

This is a show for individual artists and not for commercialism or dealers. The Maitland Rotary Art Festival (Sponsor) reserves the right to make the final interpretation of all rules and regulations.

In submitting an application to enter the Festival, the applicant agrees to display only their original work in the assigned space and throughout the dates and hours published. All work must be original, handcrafted, created and exhibited by the approved artist. Kits, imports and mass produced items will not be tolerated. This rule is strictly enforced. Wearable art shall be of original design and limited edition.

Applicants may enter more than one category. Each category must have an application and fee. All applications require three (3) photos of your work plus one (1) photo of your outdoor display. Displays must be professional and aesthetically pleasing. Displays should resemble an art gallery, not a retail shop or garage sale.

Entrants shall display work only of the same category, type and physical characteristics as that submitted with the application. The Sponsor shall have the absolute right and discretion to determine whether or not work on display is sufficiently similar to images submitted and applicant shall be bound thereby. Booths will be inspected for compliance.

Artists must exhibit and be present for the duration of the show. No commercial agents, dealers or sales people may operate an artist’s booth. Booth sharing among non-collaborating artists is not permitted.

A limited number of fine art prints or reproductions may be sold if clearly marked. Original art must occupy at least 50% of the artist’s space. Browse bins may occupy only minimal space and must be aesthetically pleasing and not obstruct patron flow. All artwork on display must be for sale.

The Sponsor reserves the right to prohibit the display of any works which it determines at its sole discretion to be inconsistent with the purpose intended by Sponsor. Further, work which in the exclusive opinion of Sponsor may be found to be offensive to the general public, such as suggestive or explicit sex or nudism, will not be allowed. Anyone displaying such work will be asked to leave and the entry fee will be forfeited.

Pets will not be permitted in the display area.

Generators, open flames or loud music are not allowed.

The show is open rain or shine. Exhibitors should be prepared for inclement weather.

Artist must clean up exhibit space after packing up.

The collection and remittance of the Florida State Sales Tax is the responsibility of each artist.

Both the $35.00 application and jury fee and the $325.00 weekend booth fee are non-refundable. Any hardship requests for the refund of a booth fee shall be in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor.

Set up and Breakdown
Check in BEFORE setting up. A photo ID of the ARTIST is required upon check in.

Load-in & Set up will be Friday, Nov. 16, from 10AM to 5PM and Saturday from 7AM to 8:45AM. All vehicles must be removed from the show grounds by 9:00AM on Saturday & Sunday.

An exhibit space of approximately 12’x 10’ will be assigned to each entrant. Displays shall face the direction designated. A sign will be supplied by the Sponsor to be posted on the display. No other cards, signs, ribbons or publicity shall be displayed before judging.

The use of stakes in the ground to support the booth is discouraged. Weights and other methods of booth securing are preferred. There are water sprinkler and electrical lines underground, so please be careful if the surface of the grass and ground is disturbed by your booth set-up. Lake Lily is a natural park with uneven terrain. Please be prepared with supports if your booth is located in a sloped area.

Some booths have access to electricity. Since the Festival does not have nighttime hours this year, artists are not required to light the booth as required in the past. If you wish to use the electricity, the limit is 300 watts and one plug per booth space. No generators or space heaters are allowed. Bring an extension cord adequate to reach up to 30’ from your booth for the electric source. The booths on the street (Maitland Avenue) do not have access to electricity.

Failure of an applicant to abide by these rules may result in the applicant being removed from the festival. In such event, there will be no refund of the application fees.
