Event Summary
The 30th Annual Jubilee Festival of Arts in Daphne Alabama is set to attract thousands to the oak-lined Main Street on September 29th and 30th. Art, music & seafood meet southern charm at this annual festival set along the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay. This art-minded community pours into the streets to find the very best in jewelry, paintings, pottery, sculpture, wood, mixed media, functional & decorative items. Olde Towne Daphne’s picturesque bay views are an inspiration to artists from across the country. The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce hosts the Jubilee Festival of Arts each year to support tourism and the arts & spotlight the beauty and fun of Olde Towne Daphne.
 

General Information
The 30th Annual Jubilee Festival is held in Daphne, Alabama, the heart of the Eastern Shore.  Daphne is directly across Mobile Bay from Mobile, Alabama at the interchange between Interstate 10 and U.S. 98 (Exit 35).  The Festival is located in “Olde Towne” Daphne on Main Street, 5 miles south of Interstate 10.  Festival hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29th and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30th. 

Approximately 130 spaces will be available for the varied selection of fine art and craft exhibits.  Art demonstrations are highly encouraged as well.  Designated streets will be blocked to accommodate the festival, which is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors.

ENTRY FEE
The charge for a single booth is $200.00 plus a $25.00 NON-REFUNDABLE jury fee. No commission is charged on sales.  An accepted application is a commitment to the show and no refund will be made for cancellation (no exceptions).  No fee will be refunded due to inclement weather.  Subletting of booth space is not allowed. Please submit a self-addressed envelope as well.
 
STATE/COUNTY BUSINESS LICENSE
The State of Alabama and Baldwin County require each vendor to purchase a transient business license.  The details are available from the Baldwin County License Inspector at (251) 928-3002 ext. 4645. For more information, visit the Probate Court web page at www.co.baldwin.al.us

DEADLINE: June 22, 2018
Applications must be submitted by June 22, 2018.  Selection notifications will begin by the beginning of July. 

EXHIBITORS' BREAKFAST
Breakfast is provided at Daphne City Hall (1705 Main St, Daphne, AL 36526) each morning.  Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

EXHIBITORS’ LUNCH
Lunch will be provided on Saturday, September 29th.  Each exhibitor will be given one complimentary box lunch which will be delivered to your booth.  Additional lunches can be purchased at ZAPP checkout.

JUDGING
Judging will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m.  The judges reserve the right to travel the show and evaluate the exhibits in the manner they choose.  A “spotter” is assigned to follow the judges and mark the booth to indicate the exhibit has been judged.

12 cash awards will be judged and awarded on Saturday, September 29.

WAITLIST POLICY:
A wait list, by category, will be established based on jury scores.  Wait listed artists are invited as cancellations occur in a particular category. Wait list artists can be accepted up to the first day of the festival, and will be notified by phone when a booth becomes available.

JURY SELECTION
The Jury Committee for the Jubilee Festival selects exhibitors deemed to best reflect creativity, quality and originality.  Jury consideration is based only on the images of work and display, not on any other qualifications. Please remember that selection can only be based on the images you send, so it is important that the images be of good quality.  In an effort to maintain a balanced show, the number of exhibitors in each category is limited.  In case of a large number of what appears to be equally acceptable entries in a particular category, preference will be given to those applications received first.

 

Rules/Regulations
  1. An accepted application is a commitment to show and no refund will be made for cancellations.  No Exceptions.
  2. Under no circumstances will stand-in or proxy exhibitors be permitted.  Only the artists or crafter accompanying his or her original work may participate in the Jubilee Festival.
  3. Artists and crafters must exhibit the two (2) days of the festival. Artists and crafters are required to man their exhibits during festival hours.
  4. Commercially manufactured items (i.e. finished ceramics, jewelry, commercial molds, patterns or kits) are not acceptable.
  5. 25% of the work displayed must be originals and must be for sale.  Photo-offset reproductions of the exhibitor’s originals may be displayed, but must be designated as such.
  6. Any items that you plan to sell during the festival must be represented in your booth image.
  7. This is a family-oriented festival for spectators of all ages, and work exhibited must be in keeping with this atmosphere.  The Festival deserves the right to remove work that it deems inappropriate.
  8. NONCOMPLIANCE WITH FESTIVAL STANDARDS & RULES MAY RESULT IN ELIMINATION FROM THIS YEAR’S AND FUTURE FESTIVALS WITH NO REFUND OF FEES.


Booth Information

For safety reasons, artists and must confine themselves to the 10 x 10 space.  No more than two booth spaces may be reserved per exhibitor.  Approximately 130 spaces will be available for the wide selection of fine art and craft exhibits.

Single Booth: $200
Double Booth: $400
  1. Exhibitors bear the responsibility for all set-up and security needs for their exhibits.  Neither the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, its representatives, nor the City of Daphne, Alabama will be responsible for loss or damage of any kind.
  2. Artists and crafters must provide their own display booths, racks, tables and chairs, and should be prepared for the possibility of inclement weather conditions, such as wind or rain.
  3. Tent weights ARE required
  4. No space can be shared, but one artist can purchase two spaces.  Two artists may request to be next to each other if their works complement each other.
  5. No on-site gas power generators are allowed.  No amplified music permitted.
