Event Summary

Now in its 14th year, Artfest is a juried show featuring fine art for sale in all mediums. This two-day, outdoor event takes place on Memorial Day weekend, May 25-26 in the heart of Port Aransas, Texas. This charming beach town is an "island destination" for weekend vacationers from across the state and home for those that treasure life near the sea. Artfest offers fine art in all mediums, a kids creative zone, a variety of food vendors, and musical venues including stage performances and street musicians.

AMENITIES:
  • A FREE artists' breakfast will be hosted at the Port Aransas Art Center on Sunday morning, 7:00 - 9:00 am.
  • Temporary booth sitting provided by Art Center Volunteers throughout the weekend.
  • Venue is a grassy field. Use of tent anchors are recommended.
  • Overnight security from 6pm-6am, Friday and Saturday

LODGING:
  • We suggest you make travel plans and reservations as early as possible. This area is a popular destination on Memorial Day weekend. Discounts on lodging in Port Aransas are not available on this holiday weekend. Consider staying in the nearby communities of Aransas Pass, Ingleside, Portland or Corpus Christi.

ADMISSION:
  • Adults $5, Children 12 and under are free.


Rules/Regulations

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  March 31, 2019. (Application, photos and jury fee must be received. Jury fee is non-refundable.)

ELIGIBILITY:  Artfest is open to individual fine artists presenting their own original work. The artist must be present to show his/her work during show hours. We will accept only your original Fine Arts; any reproductions of your own originals must be identified as such. No manufactured items, kits or resale items will be allowed. Artists may not display work that is unlike the samples submitted for jurying. Booth space may be shared by no more than two artists and each participating artist must be juried in.

BOOTH ASSIGNMENTS: Specific booth assignments are not guaranteed but the festival will consider any special request from artists that have paid their booth fees in full.

BOOTH SIGNAGE: Artists may discretely offer discounts to encourage sales. NO SIGNAGE OFFERING DISCOUNTS may be displayed.

NOTIFICATION: Notification of acceptance or decline will be sent via email (to the email address artist submits with application) no later than April 8, 2019.

BOOTH PAYMENT DEADLINE (upon acceptance): April 18, 2019.

CANCELLATION: You may cancel your registration at any time with a written request sent via email to the Port Aransas Art Center: portaransasartcenter@gmail.com. (Refunds for accepted applicants will incur a $25.00 processing fee. Jury/Application Fee is Non-Refundable.)

SALES TAX: Artists are responsible for collecting sales tax. Please refer to the State Comptroller for questions.

  • 10’ x 10’ - $150
  • 10' x 20' - $250.
  • 10' x 10' Shared Booth - $175

ARTIST CHECK-IN:
Friday, May 24: 10:00 am. - 5:00 pm
Saturday, May 25: 7:00 - 9:00 am

SHOWTIME:
Saturday, May 25: 10:00am - 6pm
Sunday, May 26: 10:00am - 5pm

ARTIST MOVE-OUT:
Sunday, May 26; No earlier than 5:00 pm
Each exhibitor is responsible for thoroughly cleaning up their area by no later than 8pm

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Vendor Check-In will be at Jerry McDonald Field on Friday and Saturday. All booths must be set up no later than 9:30am on Saturday and Sunday mornings. All vehicles must also be off the festival grounds by 9:30 am. If you will be arriving from the North, please allow extra time for the ferry ride to the island.

Merchandise left out overnight is subject to the effects of sea breezes and moisture, so please protect your artwork or take it with you.  If you choose to leave your property at the site overnight, you do so at your own risk.  Table covers and canopy side panels are highly recommended if you elect to leave your artwork overnight. Be aware that this festival is an outdoor event that goes on RAIN OR SHINE.
