Event Summary

Welcome to the first ever (hopefully with many to follow) Sunset Hills Makers Market. The Makers Market is a one day outdoor juried art and craft fair held in Sunset Hills, Missouri and set in the popular Watson Trail Park. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE WEATHER, WE HAVE A CONTINGENCY PLAN TO MOVE INSIDE! There will be potentially 50-75 exhibit slots available and we are looking for a diverse group of artisans, crafters and makers of all mediums and price points. The event will run from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm April 27, 2019. Along with exhibitors selling their handmade items, there will be live music, food trucks and a family corner with demos. By inviting a variety of seasoned and emerging artist we are dedicated to delivering an enjoyable experience to all participants and patrons alike. 

General Information

This is a juried show. A select group of community members will be judging the applications.  Please note, we are looking for a variety of mediums and pricepoints, which will be an intricate part of the selection process. We are looking for exhibitors to include: Clay, glass, metal, fiber, wood, paper, literary, music and more. The ONLY exclusion will be edible items. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors.

Special Outreach Opportunity:
We are looking for vendors who are interested in hosting/teaching a demo. We hope to have demos run throughout the day so please contact us if you are interested.  We are looking to discount vendor fees for your services.  The Makers Market will reimburse the artist for up to $50 dollars for materials needed to perform the demos.

Check In and Set Up:
  • Unloading and set up will take place starting at 6:00 am  with a schedule of 30 to 45 minutes to unload all items.
  • There will be temporary parking available while unloading and once unloaded there will be a shuttle transporting artists back to the exhibition space. Please do not start to set up your booth untill your car has been moved. 
  • Artists will check in on site prior to unloading. 
  • Spaces will be pre-assigned and non-transferable
  • Upon check in artists will receive a goodie bag with snacks and more

Tear Down:
  • Teardown will begin at the conclusion of the event, 6:00pm. Early tear down will not be permitted for any reason. 

  • Electricity is available for an additional charge of twenty dollars. 

  • A minimal number of tents are avaiable for rent at an additional charge of twenty dollars. ‚Äč
  • Trash bags will be provided and picked up at the conclusion to the event. Please do not put your trash in recptricles located around the fair, these are for the use of fairgoers only. 
  • Wifi is not available in Watson Trail Park. 

Sales Tax 
We are located in Sunset Hills Missouri, the sales tax is 9.113%


We would like to thank you for your interst in participating in the Sunset Hills Makers Market. To help ensure our show is going to the best it can be we have established some rules and regulations. To participate in our event, you MUST observe the following:

  • All work must be original, handcrafted, created and preferably exhibited by the approved artist themselves.  Kits, imports, and mass produced items are not permitted and will not be tolerated.  This rule is strictly enforced.
  • Upon arrival to the market if the items for sale are not a direct representation of what submited with the application, the organizers of SHMM have the right to refuse your participation with no refund of any kind. 
  • All applications require 5 images of your work and strongly request one of those images be a booth image, if you have one. 
  • The application fee of $20 is non refundable. 
  • Wait list - Once placed on the wait list, the office will contact you as soon as we have an opening in the show. If called from the wait list, there is NO penalty if you do not accept the spot
  • NO subletting or sharing of space is permitted. 
  • Taxes - Each exhibitor is responsible for collecting the State Sales Tax and filing a report with the local Department of Revenue. Tax for Sunset Hills is 9.113%
  • Tents - Exhibitors are responsible for making their tents sturdy against wind, rain etc.  Tents MUST be manufactured of flame-retardant materials.  Staking into the pavement will NOT be permitted.
  • No personal amplification of music or distracting audio permited
  • All display and furniture must remain in booth peramiters 
  • The City of Sunset Hills is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen property. 

This is a family event. We expect everyone to be kind and respectful and to HAVE FUN!


Booth Information
Exhibitors will be set up on the tennis courts of Watson Trail Park.
Spaces will be pre-assigned and non-transferable 
Set up will begin at 6:00 am Saturday morning
Booth spaces are 10X10 double spaces are availale and can be added to your cart at checkout. 
Single space $30 
Double space $60

Once accepted you will be able to pay your booth fee and tell us any preferences you may have about your location. This includes any physical limitations you may have. The committee cannot guarantee that all requests will be able to be honored and will do their best to accomidate. 

There is a parking lot adjacent and you will be permitted to park there while unloading. Once unloaded and before setting anything up, your car needs to be moved. There will be we a shuttle running from South County Technical School (12721 W. Watson Rd, 63127), which is just up the street. ALL VENDORS MUST PARK IN THE SCHOOLS LOT AND TAKE THE SHUTTLE TO THE SHOW. The lots located in the park are reserved for patrons.

All vendors are solely responsible for the loading and unloading of their merchandise and displays. Bring your own dollys, handtrucks and whatever equipment you need to move your stuff in and out of the show smoothly and in a safe manner.

There are a limited number of electric spaces and tents for rent for an additional fee. These are first come first serve and can be added to your cart at checkout.

If you bring your own tent, note they cannot be staked, reminder, set up is on the tennis courts. 

There can be no displays with exposed sharp edges used on the tennis court without a proper barrier onto the ground. (I.e. chairs missing rubber feet or wooden shelves with no felt bottoms.) Vendors may be held liable if they do not use appropriate materials to protect the court.

The show is over at 6pm. Vendors are not to pack up their booths before that time. There will be shuttles taking vendors to the Tech school lot to pick up their cars.
