Event Summary
The 11th Annual Winthrop Arts Festival and Market showcases fine arts created by artists and artisans as well as handmade arts and crafts. The festival draws artists and artisans from all over Florida and beyond. Attendees to the two day festival can interact with artists and artisans and purchase art from the individual artists and artisans who created it.  Artists and artisans are encouraged to demonstrate their art. We are dedicated to making the Winthrop Arts Festival and Market an artist centric festival where artists and artisans are treated like family.

We also offer entertainment, a children's art area and food from outstanding restaurants located within Winthrop Town Centre as well as area food trucks.

General Information
Mediums accepted from fine artists and artisans include:  glass, ceramics, photography, painting- abstract, painting- realism, drawings, graphite, pencil. pen and ink, fabrics/textiles, sculpture, digital arts, mixed media, wood, certain kinds of hand crafted furniture and hand crafted jewelry.

Mediums accepted from vendors include: furniture, jewelry, bookmaking, artisinal foods such as infused vinegars and oils, candles and homemade scents, clothing, bags and accessories, home accessories such as mirrors, and throw pillows, leather goods such as wallets, shoes and belts, reimagined glass ware such as painted wine bottles and vintage decanter wind chimes, soaps, lotions and homemade beauty products, upcycled crafts and designs using recycled or repurposed materials.

Fine artists and artisans who are accepted into the juried portion of the festival are eligible to win $5,000 in prize money including Best of Show ($2,500 cash prize), First Place ($1,250 cash prize), Second Place ($750 cash prize), Third Place ($350 cash prize) and Honorable Mention ($150 cash prize).  We will also offer two awards for Emerging Artists ($250 each).

Those who are determined to be vendors are not eligible for the fine arts awards. The Winthrop Arts Festival Jury will have final determination on whether a submission constitutes a fine artist and artisan.

All accepted artists and artisans are invited to the Artists' banquet held on Saturday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. Location TBD. Winthrop Arts provides the food and refreshments. Artists and artisans are welcome to bring one guest. We ask for a $5 donation for each additional guest. Awards and prizes are announced at the banquet.

Winthrop Arts offers limited overnight security during the festival, However, anything left in the booth overnight is left at the artist/artisan/vendor's own risk. Festival Management and their agents, representatives or affiliates are not responsible for artwork and displays left in booths overnight.

Artists, artisans and vendors must remain with their booth throughout the entire festival. Winthrop Arts will provide volunteers to assist with booth supervision during brief breaks. Each artist, artisan and vendor is provided with a lanyard and name badge which must be worn throughout the festival.

Private bathrooms are provided for artists, artisans and vendors in the Art Factory located at 11267 Winthrop Main Street. Your name badge and lanyard will act as your bathroom pass.

Artists, artisans and vendors are required to use white 10'x10' tents. All tents must be in good condition. All participants must provide tie downs, weights (such as sandbags) and any other sturdy equipment necessary to stabilize tents, artwork and displays in windy or rainy weather. Festival management reserves the right to remove any displays that are unsightly or in poor condition.

Exhibited work must be consistent with the images submitted by the artist and artisan must follow Festival guidelines. All artwork considered for jurying must be original and created within the last 3 years. Reproductions are limited to one bin clearly marked and may not be hung on the walls. Prints made from the artist's original negative/digital file must be processed by the artist or under the artist's supervision. It is advised that photographers display only limited and numbered editions from each negative/digital file. Ceramic works must be handmade by the artist; no machine made work will be permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed, each must be signed. Paintings, graphics and photographs must be appropriately framed or matted, and must be appropriately framed or matted, and must be displayed in a suitable portfolio or stand. Festival management reserves the right to remove any work from the exhibition.

Each artist, artisan and vendor is solely responsible for any and all sales tax related to the sale of any item, including but not limited to artwork, sold at the festival. Winthrop Arts is not responsible for tracking or overseeing the sales tax due from the profits of any items sold at the Festival.

If you are accepted in the Arts Festival, you will be a sponsored artist, artisan and vendor and must commit to participation. Based on your commitment, the Winthrop Arts Festival turns away other artists, artisans and vendors who would like to participate. In the event of a true emergency, please contact Festival Management.

Booth Information
If you are accepted into the show as either an artist or artisan, a fee of $125 must be paid to reserve your spot. Vendors must pay $150 tor reserve a spot. We will have approximately 8 premium spots which are $250 each  and are reserved when payment is made and are first come, first serve. There will be NO Booth sharing. Load-in Information- Artists, artisans and vendors may begin setting up their white tent any time after 3 p.m. (NO SET UP WiLL BE ALLOWED  BEFORE 3 P.M.) but before 8 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019. Winthrop Town Centre is located on Bloomingdale Ave. in Riverview. The Arts Festival will be held in Winthrop Common at the corner of Hadley Commons Drive and Winthrop Commerce Avenue in Riverview. Artists and artisans should check in with Festival Management upon arrival to receive booth number and location. Management will be on hand to help answer questions.  If you have special set up needs or specific questions, please contact us prior to the festival.

We ask that all tents be set up no later than 9 p.m. If you cannot comply with the time restrictions, please advise Festival Management prior to Friday, March 29, 2019. All tents must be completely set up no later than 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019. 

Using a dolly is permitted and encouraged.

Electricity is not provided and generators are not permitted.

Load out information-  Artists, artisans and vendors must have their booth dismantled and off the property no later than 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Violators may be subject to a fine.
Artists, artisans and vendors must remain with their booth until the festival has ended at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019.
