Event Summary
Start your festival season off with our unique juried art festival! The Sylvania Arts Commission invites all fine artists to submit your entry to the 8th annual Maple and Main Art & Music Festival. Set in the historic Red Bird Arts District in downtown Sylvania, Ohio, with quaint tree line streets, breweries and top area eateries. General Information
Exhibition Hours: *Rain or Shine
Saturday June 1, 11am – 7:30pm
Sunday June 2, 10am – 4pm

Entry Fees:
$25.00 – Jury Fee
$200.00 – Booth Fee (paid by check)

Awards:
• Best of Show - $1000.00
• First Place - $500.00
• Second Place - $300.00
• Third Place - $200.00
• Honorable Mention – 2 awards at $100.00 each

Check in & Setup begins Saturday at 6am. Vehicles are allowed to drive near the booth location at check-in, but all vehicles must be unloaded and then moved before set-up. Do not start to set-up any booth or art until your vehicle has been moved. Spaces are pre-assigned and not transferrable.

At check-in on Saturday artists will receive a snack bag and breakfast pastries and coffee will be provided on Sunday morning before the show. Booth sitters are available. On site security from Saturday morning through 7:00 pm Sunday evening

Teardown does not begin until Sunday at 4:30pm and must be completed by 7:00pm. Please NOTE: vehicles will not be allowed to drive past barricades until after 4:30 to ensure public safety.

Application Deadline: April 15, 2019

Artist Notification: by email by April 24, 2019

Invitation must be accepted by May 5th, with booth fee checks postmarked by May 9th. If invitation is not accepted by May 5th, and booth fee is not postmarked by May 9th, your invitation will be denied and an artist from the waitlist will be notified of an invitation. Any Non-Sufficient Fund checks will result in rejection from the show.

Rules/Regulations
Invitation must be accepted by May 5th, with booth fee checks postmarked by May 9th. If invitation is not accepted by May 5th, and booth fee is not postmarked by May 9th, your invitation will be denied and an artist from the waitlist will be notified of an invitation. Any Non-Sufficient Fund checks will result in rejection from the show. Once accepted no money will be returned to any exhibitor for any reason. The Maple and Main Committee reserves the right to reject any exhibitor from the fair if the rules and regulations are not adhered to.

Teardown does NOT begin until Sunday at 4:30pm and must be completed by 7:00pm, anyone who tears down prior to 4:30 will be noted in the show files and may run the risk of being denied jury into future shows. Please NOTE: NO VEHICLES will be allowed to drive past barricades until after 4:30 to ensure public safety and must be given a ticket to indicate their booth is ready to be packed.


Your acceptance to the fair is your obligation to appear. Artist are expected and required to be present and open throughout all operating hours of the fair. No vehicles are allowed to drive through the barricades 30 minutes prior to, during or 30 minutes after the fair operation hours.


 

Booth Information
Booths are 10 X 10, and artists are required to provide their own white tent. The fee for a booth is $200 (contact us for pricing if you need a double booth - some are available). All artists are responsible for their booth set-up and tear down. Vehicles are allowed to drive near the booth location, but all vehicles must be unloaded and then moved before set-up. Please do not start to set-up any booth or art until your vehicle has been moved. Artists should be sure to prepare for all types of weather as this is a rain or shine show, and are required to bring appropriate weights for possible wind. All items must be clearly priced.
