Event Summary
The Devils Lake Festival of the Arts is a one-day juried fine art show located in the artist village of Manitou Beach, MI on the shores of Devils Lake. Manitou Beach is within an hours drive from the Jackson, Ann Arbor, Detroit, and Toledo Metro areas. The village has a Nantucket resort feel and has a growing reputation as an up and coming art enclave that coexists with unique boutiques, eateries, art galleries, and Inns. The Festival is in it’s 6th year and continues to grow each year with over 4000 visitors attending last year. Besides the main focus of showcasing the artists, the Festival event also includes hands-on art activities for kids, demonstrations, music, dance, food and more.
NEW in 2019! The festival committee is redesigning the village layout and expanding the number of artists booths to 60. To support the growth we have been working with local travel companies to promote one day bus trips that will include a visit to the festival as well as local wineries. Also, on the same day, the local farmers market will be holding a large “craft” festival in the cannery building. As a result of these and other projects we are working on, we are expecting an increase of at least 2500 visitors to our festival of the arts.
A team of volunteers support our artists during set-up; provide breaks and refreshments throughout the day, and help with the teardown at the end of the day.
Here in the Devils Lake Area we are committed to supporting the Arts!
