Event Summary

The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts is Chicago’s premier fine art and fine craft festival showcasing over 125 juried artists. Lakeview is located on the north side of Chicago, near Wrigley Field, north Halsted and Lincoln Park in a very diverse, culturally rich community with unique boutique stores, cafes and restaurants.


The Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce has produced this event for the past twelve years. More than 45,000 attendees are expected to attend this year’s festival. The festival is set on Broadway Avenue just north of Belmont Avenue in Chicago's vibrant Lakeview neighborhood.

General Information

Lakeview East Festival of the Arts encompasses all fine art and fine craft to include: acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, printmaking, drawing, fiber, ceramics, glass, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, photography.  This festival is open to other disciplines upon individual consideration.


Lakeview East Festival of the Arts strongly promotes this event and has created a marketing/multi-media plan to reach a wide audience.  The event is in it’s 15th year and the event has seen 45,000 plus attendees in previous years.


Included in the booth fee is reserved parking for artists, Saturday night artist reception and full breakfast on Saturday/Sunday.


A shuttle will be available from the parking lot for transport to the festival.


Lakeview East Festival of the Arts will make award selections in the following categories: Best of Show, 1st Place, 2nd Place and 3rd Place.


Security detail will be present throughout the event to include setup, overnight and during each day of the festival.



Jury Rules and Artwork Requirements

All artists who apply must submit work of their own conceived creation and must be in attendance throughout the duration of the festival.  An artist is not allowed to send a representative in lieu of their personal attendance.


Work must not have been made in a production studio or using commercial molds, patterns, kits or prefabricated pieces.


Artists must submit a booth image with their jury application, preferably from a previous show.  If the jury feels that the image is not an actual representation of the artist’s booth layout, the submission will be declined.


Once accepted, Lakeview East Festival of the Arts reserves the right to use images for award jurying during the festival and possible event promotion.

Cancellation and Refund Policies

Lakeview Festival of the Arts will accept refunds and cancellations based on the following policies:

  • Refunds will be given up until 60 days prior to event minus a $100.00 cancellation fee.

  • No refunds will be given within 60 days prior to Friday, September 13, 2019

Booth Information

Booth Information and Display Regulations:

The $475.00 Booth Fee includes a 10x10 space and applicable city permits.  Tent and Display materials must not extend beyond the 10x10 space.  Only one exhibitor is allowed per booth.  Galleries or Collaborative artists may use a single booth space upon discretion of the jury.


A select number of double booth spaces are available per request and at additional cost.


Lakeview East Festival of the Arts will take space requests under consideration, but final booth location will be at the discretion of the event committee.  Please note, all exhibitors must register their arrival before loading in and setting up their booth.  Exact booth location and number are subject to change.  Information about any booth changes will be made available at time of registration.


All booths and the entire festival will be patrolled by security throughout the duration of the event and overnight on Friday/Saturday.  All spaces will be accessible to patron’s flow of traffic.


Additional Display/Tent requirements to note:

  • Exhibitor tents must be white and must be properly weighted.  Milk Jugs with water or sand, bricks or other items are not considered proper weights for your tent.  Please be sure to check with the manufacturer of your tent for correct setup and proper weighting techniques.  Any tent that is deemed by the committee as unsuitable or unsafe will have one chance to fix the issue before being dismissed from the festival without refund.

  • Promotional items, such as t-shirts, are not allowed to be displayed or sold at the festival.

  • Except for artists working in the Printmaking medium, reproductions/prints are allowed in one flip bin only and must be clearly labeled as Prints or Reproductions. Framed reproductions may be hung but must only take up 10% or less of the booth space.

  • Please keep postcards or notecards at a minimum and displayed on one small table.

  • Exhibitors are not allowed to display jewelry if they have not submitted their jewelry work to the jury process.

  • Please give as much consideration to your booth display as you do your artwork.  A well displayed booth catches the eye of patrons.  This includes: tent quality, tent weights, display fixtures and general layout.

  • Load In begins 3pm on Friday, September 13th; Load out occurs on the evening of Sunday, September 15th.
