Event Summary
Now in its 8th year, Springfest is a one-day, outdoor celebration of art, live music, food trucks and bourbon. The festival is in historic Old Louisville which features the largest collection of Victorian homes in the country. The event draws nearly 10,000 visitors, 120 vendors and 15 food trucks! For kids (and their parents) the event features Kosair KidZone with giant inflatable structures. For adults there is a fastastic art, beer garden, live music, some of the region's best artisenal food and the famous bourbon slushies and bourbon tasting compliments of Heaven Hill distillery. Springfest is Old Louisville's biggest springtime festival and kicks off at 10 AM and rocks, eats, and shops until 7 PM!

General Information
Artistic Standard
Springfest has implemented a new standard for high quality crafts and we will be paying particular attention to selecting quality, original handmade items. Accepted mediums include: candles, ceramics, clothing, digital art, drawing, fiber, floral, glass, items for pets, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, pottery, printmaking, soaps, sculpture, specialty food and wood. We are looking for a wide array of artists, from the artist working with their hands to create a special piece to the culinary artist feeding our souls!

Excluded from Springfest are the following:
  • Crafts created from kits
  • Booths used primarily for lead generation
  • Products with offensive messages/imagery
  • Multi Level Marketing Companies
  • Independent Distributors
  • Items with blatant copyright infringement issues

If your business is a food truck or non-profit, please include photos, if you have them. If you do not, put in a blank image and if there are any questions, we will let you know. Since Zapp is designed for artists, some of the questions may not apply, so use "other" or type in "food truck" or "non-profit."

Rules/Regulations

The Old Louisville Springfest Planning Committee reserves the right to reconfigure festival layout without notice. The festival takes place rain or shine; no refunds are given for inclement weather. Note that the planning committee reserves the right to postpone or cancel in the event of dangerous weather or factors out of the committees control. 

PARKING: Ample street parking is available throughout Old Louisville. You will need to make arrangements to park larger vehicles at your overnight accommodations or pay to park them in lots at nearby schools and churches. Louisville Metro Ordinances forbid RV parking on city streets.

 

Additional Rules of Participation: 

ARTISTS PLEASE NOTE: ALL WORK MUST BE DESIGNED AND EXECUTED BY THE ARTIST. Commercial or imported items, items made from kits, greenware, or mass produced items are not accepted. Any person exhibiting items that are misrepresentations of works presented at the time of application are subject to immediate dismissal from the festival. 

Security is provided for displays only during the hours the festival is not in operation. Old Louisville Springfest is in an urban residential area. Reasonable precautions should be taken to ensure the safety of you and your property. All work exhibited is at the VENDORS / ARTISTS own risk. It is recommended that each exhibitor obtain general liability insurance, as the Toonerville’s insurance does NOT extend coverage for exhibit damage or bodily injury.

Accepted VENDORS / ARTISTS are required to remain open all hours of the festival.

The Old Louisville Springfest Planning Committee reserves the right to change an exhibitor space if it is deemed necessary. The exhibitor’s full cooperation is expected. 

NOT Permitted: Sale or trading of explosives, firearms, ammunition, flammables, knives - sale or trading of alcoholic beverages or sale or trading of any obscene or pornographic nature material - sale or trading of any live animals - sale or trading of all tobacco products - sale or trading of illegally duplicated / pirated products (e.g. DVDs, CDs, etc.) 

“Farmers Market” items such as fresh vegetables, canned goods, etc. are permitted. Samples are permitted. 

Vendors may not deface or nail anything to light poles, street signs, sidewalks or pavement. Weights are required to hold down booth tents or stake in dirt. No stakes are allowing into hard concrete or blacktop.  

Vendors are responsible for all sales tax.

Each seller is required to keep his or her area clean. No vendor is permitted to leave any discarded merchandise, boxes, or cartons on the grounds at the end of the festival.

Springfest planning committe reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event at their sole discresion.

Photos of products, etc. submitted by accepted applicants may be used on the festival website, unless other stated in writing by the applicant. Photos will also be taken at the festival and used for future communications and marketing.

BOOTH SPACE: STANDARD booth space is 10’ wide by 10’ deep, but this varies since it is an outdoor festival where natural or manmade obstructions can limit or increase a booth space size. VENDORS / ARTISTS should have a tent. Please note that 10’x10’ tents are the maximum size which can be accommodated and that the maximum height of all displays should not exceed 9’ due to low hanging tree branches. Booths will be in Toonerville Trolley Park, 1215 S Brook Street, and adjacent to sidewalks and alleys. Blocking sidewalks is not permitted. Running water is not available. Exhibitors are responsible for providing their own tents and displays, which should be sufficiently sturdy to withstand weather and crowds.

BOOTH ELECTRICITY: Electricity is available to your booth at an extra charge of $50 but can only used for lighting.  There is not suffiient amperage to support heaters, cooling devices or other applicances. Battery powered lighting is acceptable. 

SET-UP AND TAKE DOWN: Set up will begin at 7 AM on May 18, 2019. Overnight security will be on hand for the previous night (Friday May 17th); but, we are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items. No set up is permitted during festival hours and take down can not start before 7 PM. The festival booth coordinator will contact you with set up and booth location / instructions two weeks prior to the festival. 

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: Vendors are welcome to cancel but there will be no booth fee refunds after April 1st. Cancellations prior to April 1st will receive a full refund minus a $25 fee. The festival takes place rain or shine; no refunds are given for inclement weather
