Art is Speed Park has earned the fine reputation as a show that treats our artists with respect - while producing a high-quality art fair, featuring exceptional - original artwork. Attracting up to 30,000 knowledgeable and serious buying art patrons annually.

The Art in Speed Park team is diligent in our efforts to identify and exclude Buy/Sell and Mass-Produced Vendors. 

The festival offers a vibrant celebration of the arts in beautiful, tree lined Speed Park - just 10 minutes from downtown Louisville, KY.

​Commercial studios involved in multiple or volume production should not apply to the show.
Best of Show and Merit Award Winners will automatically be accepted in the 30th Anniversary - 2020 Art Fair.

Three independent jurors are invited each year to evaluate all artists' work in the show and select the award winners. All artists, regardless of medium are eligible for these awards. Best of Show and six Merit Awards given to the top artist in each represented medium category. Each award winner receives a ribbon, cash award and an invitation to bypass the jury process in 2020. Best of Show award winner will receive a complimentary booth space for the following year in addition to award monies. Artist's Awards Dinner Presentation follows the show on Saturday evening at Speed Park.


 The jury is conducted by a panel of experienced arts and industry professionals and is based solely upon the quality of work as illustrated in submitted, digital images. Images are viewed by medium categories and artist statements are read during the multiphase jurying process. Of highest importance is the creative vision of the applicant and the quality of work. Artist certifies that all jury images submitted represent his/her original work. Art in Speed Park may limit the number of artists accepted in some categories in order to present a balanced show. Decisions of the jury are final. The festival Director will fill all vacancies from the show waitlist based upon jury scores.


All applications from professional artists must submit an image of their display booth. The booth image shows the jury your body of work, provides dimension and scale and shows overall continuity and presentation of your current body of work. If available, please use an image from an outdoor show. Booth images must show the entire booth. Artist must include 4 images of individual works as well as one booth display photo.

​Artists are encouraged to enter a description of material, technique and inspiration that is concise and explains body of work. No more than 200 characters. Artist's statements will be used for the jury process and promotional purposes. 

All work must be original and signed handcrafted work. The artist's signature defines and establishes artistic ownership of the works presented and the authenticity of the work as the creation of their own hands.

​2D Mixed Media - ​Works that incorporate more than one type of physical material in their production. Two-dimensional Mixed Media should include more than one of the following: paint, pencil, watercolor, photography, printmaking or drawing, fabric or other found objects.

​3D Mixed Media - Works that incorporate more than one type of physical material in their production. Three-dimensional Mixed Media should include more than one of the following: clay work, fiber, glass, metal, wood, or any other 3-D objects.

Ceramics ​- All original clay and porcelain. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed, the artist must sign each piece. Machine-made and mass-produced work is not permitted.

​Digital Art - Original work utilizing computer technology to craft or manipulate visual images. Work must be printed on archival quality paper and be properly signed and numbered as a limited edition. Exhibitor must disclose and display both their creative and printing processes in their booth during the show.

Drawing & Pastels - Works created using dry media including chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax crayons, etc. or from fluid medium of inks and washes applied by pen or brush.

Fiber - All work crafted from fibers, including basketry, embroidery, weaving, tapestry and papermaking. No machine-tooled, machine-screened patterns or miscellaneous forms of mass production are permitted. No factory produced items, regardless of additional modifications or enhancements may be exhibited. 

Glass - Glass works that are functional or decorative by design and are kiln-formed or have been crafted by glass blowing, molding or casting. Works may be etched or engraved. No forms of mass production are permitted. 

Jewelry - ALL jewelry, whether produced from metal, glass, clay, fiber, paper, plastic or other materials. No commercial casts, molds or production studio work is allowed. Limited use of pre-made material such as beads or small ornamental items is permitted.

Leather - Work where the primary material is leather including belts, handbags, wearables and sculptural work. All factory-produced items regardless of additional modification or enhancement by the artist is prohibited.

Metal - Includes all non-sculptural, non-jewelry work crafted from metals. No production studio work is allowed.

Painting - Works created in oils, acrylics, watercolor, etc.

Photography - The process of capturing images that begins with a camera lens, then printing the images, by chemical or digital means onto a surface. The photography category includes traditional film photography that has not been manipulated to achieve results beyond what could be done in a traditional darkroom. All pieces must be signed, numbered and dated in limited editions of no more than 250. Prints must have been processed by the artist. In addition to the above, the surface on which the photographs are printed must be identified in the description (paper, aluminum, wood, fabric, canvas, etc.) Photographers are required to disclose their creative and printing processes.

Printmaking & Graphics -  Printed works for which the artist hand-manipulated the plates, stones, or screens. Prints must be signed and numbered as a limited edition. Printmakers are required to disclose their printing process. 

Sculpture - Three-dimensional original work created in any medium.

Wood - Original works that are hand-tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved.

It is a goal of the festival to attract and support Emerging Artists from the region that have not previously participated in art festivals. The application procedure and fee are the same as if you were applying to the standard show, however, upon acceptance emerging artists will pay a booth fee discounted 50%. Artists may apply ONLY to the Emerging Artist Program OR the standard show, not both. Artists who are just beginning exhibiting at arts festivals are encouraged to apply. Research will be conducted on all emerging artists who apply to determine eligibility.
​Emerging Artist applicants will apply in the same format as professional artists. Each Emerging Artist must submit four images of their artwork through zapplication.org. The fifth image should be a grouping of the artist's work in place of booth shot. When uploading the fifth image of your work, select "YES" this is your booth shot. Then select "Emerging Artist" as your medium. It is our goal to attract, mentor and support Emerging Artists that have not previously participated in art festivals.


​Accepted artists will be notified via email no later than May 15, 2019. A reserve list of accepted artists will also be selected to ensure a complete and balanced show. Waitlist artists will be notified by email immediately after May 15, 2019. Booth fees will be due within 15 days of notification for those who wish to confirm.



​Art in Speed Park considers its enforcement of rules and regulations our exclusive right and responsibility. Art show team members will visit all displays throughout the show to ensure that exhibitors comply with the all show rules and regulations.

​Work in juried images must be representative of the work to be shown at the art fair and the correct inventory proportions.
Working Example - If a photographer submits 3 black and white images and 1 color image to the jury, the artist is committed to bring and sell 75% black and white photos.

The following items are not permitted at Art in Speed Park: Any work that you did not make by hand or is not of your own execution. This includes but is not limited to, buy-sell, imported items, kit made or pattern items and commercially manufactured items. If prohibited iems are found, you will be asked to leave the festival and forfeit all fees. Removal decisions are at the discretion of the Festival Director who is the final arbiter of any such decision. Please not not apply if works include prohibited items described above. 

Current body of work must be displayed starting from creation date of 2014 forward. Work created before 2014 will be considered reproductions and adhere to guidelines for such.

The artist and collaborating artist must be present at check in, present valid photo ID and must be present in the booth during festival hours except for reasonable breaks. 

No mass-produced or manufactured work will be permitted.

All work must be designed and executed by the accepted artist(s). It is the work by the artists that is juried, therefore any change in the body of the work by the artist is not considered juried and may not be sold unless approved the Festival Director.

Artists are required to display an Artist Statement including photograph in their booth during the arts festival.

Reproductions must be a subsidiary part of the artist's display and not exceed 25% of the booth inventory. All reproductions must be clearly and individually labeled "Reproduction" on the front of each piece as such. No other terms such as "print" or "offset lithograph" may be used. 
Works made before 2014 will be considered reproduction and must be labeled as such.
Reproductions must be signed editions of no more than 250, hand pulled by artist.

​Framed reproductions may be displayed on one wall of booth, not to exceed 10 linear feet. All unframed reproductions must be displayed in browse bins. An excessive number of reproductions will be in violation of Art in Speed Park. If you feel any artists is violating regulations and guidelines, please contact us during the festival.  All removal decisions on reproductions will be made at the sole discretion of the Festival Director.

All artists are responsible for having their booths weighted at a minimum of 25 lbs. at each corner to prevent damage in the event of high winds.

Art in Speed Park is a Pet-Free event, for the safety of our pets, patrons and artwork.

Artists retain 100% of their sales and are responsible for the collection and reporting of all applicable sales taxes. Indiana sales tax is 7.0% For more information, visit www.intax.in.gov

Artists are responsible for maintaining general liability insurance for their booth space during the event for thier personal protection against loss. The Art in Speed Park festival will not be responsible for any exhibitor property damage as detailed in the legal agreement. Art in Speed Park, Inc. must be listed as an additional insured pursuant to a general liability insurance policy with minimum event coverage of $1,000,000.

​All artists must be present to exhibit both days of the art show. This includes collaborating artists. Proper ID is required of both artists. If artists apply as collaborating artists, each artist must be present. If each artist is not present, artists will not be permitted to set-up or exhibit.

If you are submitting an application as a collaborating artist/partner, you must submit the name(s) with the application.

  • Enter one of the two collaborating artists as the primary contact in the profile form. This name will always appear first in the publications and online if accepted. 
  • After completing the information requested, enter the collaborating artist's name(s) in the section at the bottom of the profile page.
  • This information is carried over to the application for purposes of identifying a collaborative effort. 
  • You may not add a partner, after jurying 

​By submitting your application to Art in Speed Park you are confirming that you have read and agree to all terms and conditions stated throughout this application and in the Legal Agreement should you be accepted to participate in Art in Speed Park.


Booth Information

​Checks or money orders are to be made payable to Art in Speed Park. ​When purchasing via check, please proceed through Checkout on ZAPP, selecting "payment with a check" as your payment option. Applications posted after 12:00 a.m. midnight EST April 30, 2019 will not be considered. You may submit up to 2 applications per artist profile. Each application will incur a non-refundable $30 fee.


11x11 Booth Space: $350

​21x11 Double Booth: $600 (double booths are limited and sold first come, first served)

​If you are accepted into the show in two separate categories, you will be given two single booths; this will not be considered a double booth and will require two payments of $350.
Please indicate the desired booth size in your application and make booth payment accordingly.
​Free Artist's Parking within the show's park grounds. 24-hour police presence.

For cancellations prior to July 1, 2019, booth space fees will be returned, less a $30 application fee. No booth space fees will be refunded for cancellations after this date. First preference is given to returning artists for double booths and requests for same booth location as prior year. Art in Speed Park reserves all rights with respect to final booth placement.

​24-hour police security is provided, the evening of set-up until tear-down. Easy vehicle access directly to the artists booths. Free Artist's parking during show hours is within close proximity inside the park grounds.
