JURY DETAILS

Event Summary
The 2019 Lubeznik Arts Festival (LAF) will take place on August 17thand 18th. This popular festival held by Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) is currently in its 38th year.

LAF takes place on LCA’s grounds to connect festival-goers to LCA’s dynamic programming and exhibitions. All proceeds from this event are invested back in the community. LCA’s galleries are open to the public at no charge, and its programs serve thousands of children and adults each year.

We select individual fine artists and fine crafters through a jury process. Additionally, our galleries will be available for use by regional galleries that represent the best in emerging contemporary art. We anticipate 75 to 100 exhibitors in total. LAF is extensively marketed via social media, radio, TV, print and promotional signage.

Juror: Kristina Knowski is a fine artist and illustrator living in Northwest Indiana. Since graduating as Valedictorian from the American Academy of Art in Chicago in 2012, Kristina has participated in numerous group and solo shows in Chicago, Northwest Indiana and surrounding states. Some of these include “Animalier: The Animal in Contemporary Art,” “Apocalypse 2012: Genesis 2013,” “Facing Extinction,” and “Birds & Bees.” Her most notable solo show was “Dreams of Martha” at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, in remembrance of the 100-year anniversary of the extinction of the Passenger Pigeon. Kristina manages SFC Gallery in the Uptown Arts District of Michigan City,...
