THE 2019 OVERLAND PARK FALL FESTIVAL

 

The Overland Park Fall Festival in historic Downtown is a much anticipated annual tradition that draws tens of thousands to its farmers' market, multiple concert stages, children's pavilion, parade and craft show! The Festival is a city tradition that arrives each September, rain or shine.


NOTE: This year, due to extensive park renovations, the event will be held in the area surrounding the Farmers' Market. All booths will be on asphalt, all spaces are parking space sized. We will have slightly fewer spaces availalbe then in past years and some ammenities will be changed to accommodate the location. Thank you for understanding.

General Information

DATE: Saturday, September 28, 2019

LOCATION: The craft fair is in the Farmers' Market located at 80th Street and Marty.

TIME: Craft Fair is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Applications received are reviewed each Monday. Once your application is reviewed, your status will be changed to either INVITED, at which point you may proceed to ZAPP SHOP and purchase your space, or NOT INVITED.

The required $10 application fee is non-refundable regardless of final status. If status is INVITED, you should purchase your booth space immediately. Booth space is not reserved but sold as available until all space is full. Once sell out is reached all
INVITED vendors not having purchased booth space are automatically moved to WAIT LIST status.

 

SET-UP: After 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 until 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. Vendors are permitted to stay overnight on Friday, September 27, 2019. Be advised, your vehicle must be relocated to designated vendor parking. Do not leave an unattended vehicle in the event space.

 

TEAR-DOWN: After 5:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 or after vendor sells out their inventory.


SECURITY: The Overland Park Police Department provides security the night before the Festival, however, neither the City nor its agents are liable for loss or damage, see legal agreement.

Rules/Regulations

RULES:

1. The annual Fall Festival Arts and Crafts Fair accepts only 100% handmade products sold by the artisan.

  • This means that 100% of a vendor’s inventory is made by the vendor selling at the show.
  • Mass produced, commercially manufactured and kit products are all ineligible.
  • Inventory with minimal embellishment, items not manufactured by the representative vendor and items that are commercially available are also not allowed.
  • Component pieces such as the stones in jewelry or the glass for stained glass windows are not including under this rule, however, all items they comprise will be evaluated by this rule.
  • Vendors who also sell in online marketplaces may participate in the show provided they meet the above requirements and are not selling the items of another artisan, regardless if the products meet the handmade requirements. The artisan creating the product must be present.

2. Vendors found to be in violation of rule #1 will be subject to a probation during the following year’s festival and possible expulsion from future events. Probation may be appealed via a process of explanatory production techniques, photographic proof of production, shop information and possible shop inspections. If a vendor can establish compliance with rule #1 to festival manager’s satisfaction, probation will be rescinded.
 

3. The event does NOT provide tents and electricity. Vendors are only renting space.
 

4. Vendors are not allowed to hang anything from the trees.
 

5. Layout and presentation of the event are based on the needs of the event as defined by the event management, placements are not permanent. Requests are accommodated to the best ability of management. If a vendor has an ADA compliance need, please advise management so that accommodation may be provided.
 

6. Event representatives will evaluate all booths and their contents for the purpose of ensuring product quality, presentation and fulfillment of the handmade requirement cited in rule #1. Ability to participate in next year’s Fair may be contingent upon this factor.
 

7. Leashed dogs are only allowed in the festival area not in the covered market stalls. We prefer you leave your pet at home. If you bring them, clean up after them and keep them away from the public.
 

8. If you park your vehicle in the event space overnight you must move it by 4 a.m. for others to have access to their space.
 

10. All entrants are responsible for their own sales taxes. If you require a Kansas Tax ID number or have a question, contact: KDR Field Services at (913) 631-0296. The KDR will be given a list of participating vendors.

 


Booth Information

FEES:

Booths are first come, first purchased. Purchase quickly for prime space. Non-refundable application fee: $10.


Booth sizes are:

10'x10' with one selling side...$85

10'x20' with one selling side...$160

We do not provide electricity or tents. 

Due to 2019 relocation for park renovation, past space sizes are not available.
