The annual Art & Craft Affair in downtown Battle Lake was launched in 1977 by the Art of the Lakes Association. Annually, this event draws nearly 5,000 visitors and is held on the 2nd Saturday of August at Railroad Park, located at MN Hwy 78 and County Rd 83 in tourist destination, downtown Battle Lake.
     The mission of the Art & Craft Affair is to offer display vendors an opportunity to market creative, handmade, original arts and crafts, and to offer fairgoersof all ages, an opportunity to enjoy the event and discover unique handcrafted items of interest.
There is free parking and admission to this event for all.

What we DO accept in the Art & Craft Affair:
•Only original work handmade by the artist is eligible for sale, including authors.
Mediums include: ceramics,  digital media, drawing, fiber, folk/traditional arts, glass, jewelry, leather, metalwork, mixed media, other, painting, papermaking/book arts, photography, printmaking, sculpture and woodwork

What we do NOT accept in the show:
•NO items contracted out and/or made by someoneelse and/or resale items. Items must be at least 60% made by the vendor (e.g., clothing with added handiwork).

Images:  A total of 5 images are to be submitted (including booth shot)  All images submitted to the Art & Craft Affair may be used for promotional purposes before, during, and after the event unless otherwise agreed upon, in writing, with event management prior to image submission. Images will be credited, as appropriate to the use.
  • File format: Baseline Standard JPEG. Do not save as a Progressive JPEG.
  • File Size: ~2.0 MB
  • Resolution: at least 72dpi; 300dpi is recommended
  • Quality: these images will be reviewed and scored by the jury, take care to submit images that show your work in the best possible light

Food:  There are food vendors, centrally located

Sales: Artists keep 100% of the sales.  Artists are responsible for collecting sales tax and maintaining records of their sales.

Liability:  Regardless of course, the artist agrees to bear all risk and expense for any loss, theft or damage to their artwork or personal property or person.  Insurance is the artists responsibility.
  • No debris may be left behind after tearing down.
  • Artist booths must be open all hours of the festival. No late arrivals or early exits. Artist will not be invited back if this rule is broken.
  • Only work congruent in context of that which is juried into the show can be present and all artwork must be available for sale.
  • Artists may exhibit artwork only in the category in which they are accepted.
