Event Summary


The Trout Museum of Art invites Wisconsin artists to submit new work for the 39th Annual SECURA Fine Arts Exhibition. Please submit not more than three images of the same work or images of up to three different works (all in the same medium or each in different mediums). 

General Information

WHAT WORK WILL BE CONSIDERED: 
All forms of art will be considered including, but not limited to:
  • drawing
  • painting
  • social practice
  • printmaking
  • textile
  • sculpture
  • performance
  • video
  • glass
  • ceramics
  • mixed media
  • photography
* NOTE: If submitting more than one artwork in different mediums please select "Other" in the Medium Catagory in the pages to follow.

3rd:                        $250
People's Choice:   $250


Rules/Regulations

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work must have been completed 2018-2019.
  • Work selected will exemplify the Trout Museum of Art’s commitment to creating a safe space for all art practices. We want to see our best artists' and community have meaningful conversations about art and compelling issues of our day.
  • If there are specific installation needs for the work, please describe.
  • If selected, work must be delivered to the Trout Museum of Art on one of the dates listed below.

Artists whose work has been accepted for the exhibition will be notified via email by 6:00 PM on April 1, 2019.
 

JURY
Prior to acceptance, submissions will be juried by a committee of four professional members of our local and regional arts community: 
  • ‚ÄčJOHN ADAMS, curator & owner of the Feather & Bone Gallery and The Draw
  • CAROL EMMONS, artist and retired professor of art from UW-Green Bay
  • CHRISTINA TURNER, president of the Trout Museum of Art in Appleton
  • BETH A. ZINSLI, curator & assistant professor, Lawrence University in Appleton 


DATES TO REMEMBER
Sumissions Open:                        Friday, February 1
Submissions Close:                     Friday, March 15
Accepted Artist Notification:       Monday, April 1
Accepted Artwork Drop-Off:        April 19, 20, 21 (during regular museum hours)                                
Exhibition Dates:                          Saturday, May 4 - Sunday, June 2
Artwork Pickup:                            June 3, 4, 5 (during regular museum hours)
