Event Summary

Showcasing Artists with their Best Work...in the perfect setting

We cordially invite you to apply to the 41st annual Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts, scheduled for October 19-20, 2019, one of the largest, most successful small town festivals in Texas. Our charming, artist-friendly festival features corner booths, extended single booths, and small booths. Artist amenities include a complete hospitality area, continental breakfast, water, coffee, tea, and snacks delivered to your booth throughout the three days (set up day included). We offer transportation to and from your vehicles as needed.

We feature an array of online, print, and smartphone promotional avenues appealing to a diverse and wealth-welding public. Harvest Moon is a prime candidate for your tour through Texas, Oklahoma, and surrounding states.
We are continuing to expand our Children's Creation Plaza. Last year we saw how instrumental it was in bringing the next generation of buyers and future artists. With its huge success, we are extending the hours and the creativity!

We offer a progressive application fee of $25 until June 12, 2019, $30 until August 1, 2019, and $35 after August 1, 2019. 
Application deadline is August 18, 2019.

General Information

41st Annual Harvest Moon-Festival of the Arts

Check-In Friday, October 18, 2019, 9 am. Times will vary 

Saturday, October 19, 2019,  9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, October 20, 2019, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All artists must submit four photos of the art that will be sold; booth shots are encouraged, but not required.

Over $3,000 in cash and booth awards will be given away on Sunday, October 20, 2019. 
 A group of arts professionals will jury the artwork beginning Saturday morning. Please make sure you have your booth number attached visibly outside your canopy. 


 Artist Amenities include:
In addition to being a festival for artists run by artists, and their supporters, we are happy to offer participating artists the opportunity to load in during daylight hours again this year!!! 

-Hospitality area with refreshments and bathroom facilities
-Volunteer help with load in and take down
-Shuttle service to a nearby vendor parking area
-Volunteer booth sitters as needed for breaks during the fair
-Security guard to supplement in overnight surveillance
-Special rates for artists at local bed and breakfasts and hotels.
-Enthusiastic promotion by the Visit Granbury, the Historic Granbury Merchant's Association and the Granbury Arts Alliance

Jury and selection:

Each artist is scored by jury members on a scale of yes-no-maybe.  The top scorers in each category will receive an invitation to the show.  An additional number of artists will be retained for a wait list of alternates.   



All artwork must be original, handmade work and the artisan must be present at the event.  Mass-produced or commercial products will not be accepted.  Crafts made from commercial kits, ceramics made using molds as a base, wood-working, and sewing from commercial patterns, are not appropriate for this show.  We are looking for unique, hand produced work!

Artists marketing reproduction prints of original work must have prints clearly labeled as such and should not comprise more than 50% of your exhibition.

All works submitted will be considered for the jury process based on merit.  Images submitted must be representative of all work to be shown at the Harvest Moon Festival.  The festival directors reserve the right to reject works that do not meet the professional standards listed.


Ceramics: All original clay and porcelain work other than jewelry is accepted in this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed each piece must be signed.

Digital Art: This category includes any original work for which the original image, or the manipulation of other source material, was executed by the artist using a computer. Work in this category must be in limited editions, signed and numbered on archival quality materials. Traditional photographs taken through digital media should apply in the photography category.  Work that starts with a photograph and manipulated by digital means must be entered in either the Mixed Media or Photography category.
Drawing: Works created using dry media including chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencil, wax crayon, etc. or from the fluid medium of inks and washes applied by pen or brush are to be entered in this category.

Functional: No forms of mass production are permitted.

Fiber: All work crafted from fibers including basketry, embroidery, weaving, tapestry, and papermaking. No machine tooling, machine-screened patterns or other forms of mass production are permitted. No factory produced wearable items, regardless of additional modification or enhancement by the artist, may be exhibited.
Glass: No forms of mass production are permitted.
Jewelry: All jewelry whether the work is produced from metal, glass, clay, fiber, paper, plastic or other materials must be entered in this category. No commercial casts, molds or production studio work is allowed.
Leather: Includes all works from leather. No production studio work is allowed.
Metalworks: Includes all non-sculptural, non-jewelry works crafted from metals. No production studio work is allowed.
Mixed Media: This category includes works, both 2 and 3-dimensional, that incorporate more than one type of physical material to produce. Includes non-sculptural work as determined by the artist. Please note two previous categories, 2D Mixed Media and 3D Mixed Media, have been combined into one Mixed Media category.
Painting: Works created in oils, acrylics, watercolor, etc. are in this category.
Photography: Photographic prints made from the artist's original image, which have been processed by that artist, or under his or her direct supervision, are included in this category. Photographers are required to disclose both their creative and printing processes on prints which have been properly signed and numbered as a limited edition.
Printmaking: Printed works for which the artist's hand manipulated the plates, stones or screens and which have been properly signed and numbered as a limited edition may be entered in this category. All giclee, photocopy and offset reproductions, will be rejected. Printmakers are encouraged to do their own printing which has been processed by the artist, or under his/her direct supervision.  Printmakers are required to disclose both their creative and printmaking processes.
Sculpture: Three-dimensional original work is done in any medium, including built-up works in wood are included in this category.
Wood: Original works in wood that are hand-tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved are accepted in the wood category.
Authors: All entries must be original works by the entrant, in English. Plagiarism, which includes the use of third-party poetry, song lyrics, characters or another person’s universe, without written permission, will result in disqualification. 



Booth Information

Booth Sizes and Pricing:

Single Booths 10' wide X 20' deep      $250.00    within the Courthouse Square. this is a deep booth that you can set up with all art or gives you room to have a back setup space.

Corner Booths 20' wide X 10' deep     $300.00    corner areas first come first served (some 2018 corners already spoken for)  this is a wide space, that will showcase your work with frontage for customers.

Small Single Booths 10' wide x 10' deep        $200   outside Courthouse Square, N. Crockett Street. These spaces are located on the outside road of the square and are a little more affordable.

There are no other fees or commissions.  Minimum electricity is included in booth fee, additional electricity requirements $25. Request early.

Staking of tents is not permissible and leg weights with a minimum of 50 lbs. per leg are required. It can be windy in our area.

Tents, tables, and chairs are the artist responsibility (not provided and rentals not available).

Set up times:  Friday, October 18 beginning at 9:00 p.m.  We will update with scheduling later.

Vendor parking is located two blocks North of the Square (parking pass provided) with shuttle service
