Event Summary
Celebrating its 49th year, The Festival of the Arts is the longest-running juried art show in Citrus County. Located in beautiful downtown Inverness, surrounding the historic old courthouse. The city is proud to host 100+ exhibitors with a wide variety of fine art, mixed media, photography, 3D, original work in metal, clay, glass, textiles, wood, leather and more. This show focuses on high-quality artwork and provides awards and prizes to selected artists.  Returning this year – live entertainment with acoustic music throughout the festival. ARTIST AMENITIES:  The City of Inverness wants to ensure that your participation is a positive experience. During the Event, the following amenities are offered to all artists: Free water, pre-arranged lunch delivered to your booth daily; minor food vendors, Free Parking, Friday set-up, Friday and Saturday night security; Booth Sitters available daily to allow artists to take a break from their booth, full color festival program with artists names, hotel room discount at Central Motel (www.CentralMotel.com).

FINE ART CATEGORIES (NEW)

  • Ceramics: All original clay and porcelain work other than jewelry accepted in this category. No machine-made or mass produced work is permitted. If multiple pieces of the same design are displayed, each piece must be signed.
     
  • Digital Art: This category includes any original work for which the original image or the manipulation of a source material is executed by the artist using a computer. Work in this category must be limited editions, signed and numbered on archival quality materials. Photographs taken through a digital camera should apply in the PHOTOGRAPHY category.
     
  • Drawing: Works created using such dry media as chalk, charcoal, pastels, pencils and wax crayon or from the fluid medium of inks and washes applied by pen or brush are to be entered in this category.
     
  • Fiber: All work crafted from fibers including basketry, embroidery, weaving, leatherwork, tapestry, and paper making. No machine tooling, machine-screened patterns, or other forms of mass productions are permitted. No factory-produced wearable items, regardless of additional modifications or enhancements by the artist may be exhibited.
     
  • Glass: Original work created in glass by the artist. Pressed glass and massed production are not permitted.
     
  • Graphic & Printmaking: Print works for which the artist's hand manipulated the plates, stones or screens, which have been signed and numbered as a limited edition may be entered in this category. Offset reproductions are not allowed. Print makers are required to disclose both their creative and print making process.
     
  • Jewelry: All jewelry, whether the work is produced from metal, glass, clay, fiber, paper, plastic or other materials must be entered in this category. No commercial casts, molds, or production studio work allowed.
     
  • Metalwork: Includes all non-sculptural, non-jewelry works crafted from metal. No production studio work is allowed.
     
  • Mixed Media: This category includes works, both 2D and 3D, that incorporates more than one type of physical material to produce. Includes non-sculptural work as determined by the artist. Jewelry is not considered mixed-media; jewelry must apply in the JEWELRY category. Photography is not considered mixed-media; photography must apply in the PHOTOGRAPHY category. If you have questions or need clarification, call and talk with us.
     
  • Painting: Works created using such materials as oils, acrylics and watercolor, are in this category. Reproductions are allowed; however, they must be signed and limited editions.
     
  • Photography: Photographic prints made from the artist's original image (e.g., film or digital) which have been processed by the artist or under their direct supervision, are included in this category. Images printed through software such as Photoshop are to be entered in this category, not in mixed-media or digital.
     
  • Sculpture: Three-dimensional original work done in any medium (e.g., bronze, stone, acrylic).
 
  • Wood: Original works that are hand-tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved are accepted in the wood category.

Rules/Regulations
  • Please carefully read the following rules and regulations necessary for exhibitors to participate in this event.
  • All exhibits must be suitable for one of the designated categories; that is, art related and in good taste.
  • Exhibitors may only exhibit their own work. Copies of masters, advertisements or published photographs will not be accepted.
  • Category entries may not be re-sales of imports and/or ready-made items.
  • Category designation may be changed at the discretion of event staff.
  • No ribbons previously won in any show may be displayed.
  • The work of only one exhibitor may be displayed in each assigned space. However, a team producing a single product may qualify as a single exhibitor. Such a team may consist of no more than two people. Both exhibitors must sign the application.
  • Moving, trading or relocating assigned space is prohibited.
  • All exhibitors must use tents in good condition, without tears or stains, and securely weighted down.
  • We do not permit tents to be staked. Tents must be weighted and have the ability to withstand strong winds.
  • Electricity is not provided.
  • You must provide your own tent, tables, chairs, lighting, weights, silent generator should you need electricity, and all supplies needed to operate.
  • Exhibitors must drop off supplies and move vehicles from setup location. Vehicles (cars, trucks, trailers, golf carts) are not part of exhibit space. Vehicles must enter the area only as directed to drop off supplies.
  • Space assignments are made based on the best interest of the special event.
  • This application neither implies nor grants any preferential consideration or location.
  • No roaming exhibitors. This event is not able to support roaming exhibitors.
  • No alcohol, cigarettes, cigars or e-cigarettes in the exhibit space at any time.
  • No pets or children under the age of 18 are allowed in the exhibitor space at any time.
  • Exhibitors will be responsible to fully comply with the Florida State Sales Tax Regulations in effect during the period of the special event.
  • Once an application is accepted, there are no refunds for cancellations, for any reason.
  • You may not breakdown your booth until event completion. You will be advised as to when tear down can begin.
  • There are no refunds for inclement weather. No rain date.
  • Security will be provided from 4:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd. Be advised, if you leave your artwork overnight, you do so at your own risk.
  • Exhibits must be ready for judging by 9:30 a.m. Saturday, and remain in place until 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
  • Ribbons will be awarded individually on Saturday to allow for display of ribbons on art works.
  • Exhibitors shall agree to conduct its activities upon the premises so as not to endanger any person thereon and to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Inverness, its agents, officers and employees against any and all claims, demands and causes of action, including claims for personal injury and/or death, damages, costs, liabilities, in law or in equity, or every kind of nature whatsoever.


Booth Information
All booth spaces are sold as 12 feet long and 10 feet wide. All additional space is purchased at the rate listed. Payment for jury/application fee must be included with your application and is non-refundable.
