Event Summary
For over 40 years Sugarloaf has provided a low overhead market for artists and crafts people to sell their work. At Sugarloaf's Gaithersburg, MD show, you will reach shoppers in Washington's affluent suburbs.

Show Overview & General Info

Montgomery County, MD is one of the nation’s wealthiest counties with high household income and a population just under one million. Gaithersburg is ten miles from downtown Washington, D.C. just off the I-270 High Tech Corridor. The population is well educated and the major industries are computers, Internet, and biotech.

Montgomery County Fairgrounds features indoor heated buildings, barns with half sides and outdoor spaces. There is plenty of free parking on this 64-acre site. Camping is permitted at an additional fee. The food at this show is great. Over 25 food stands featuring a wide variety of quality food helps to make this show fun for exhibitors and patrons alike.

Our Gaithersburg shows will now feature 10'x10' INDOOR spaces instead of the 8' deep spaces of past years. A new more open layout inside the buildings will give each artist 25% more space. More display space should lead to increased sales for all. Spaces in the barns at Gaithersburg shows will remain 8 feet deep due to architectural constraints.

In addition to increasing indoor booth spaces at Gaithersburg shows, the aisles in the indoor buildings will be widened. Easier navigation for visitors with strollers and others using wheelchairs will provide a better experience. The wider aisles should also eliminate some bottlenecks created when there is a big crowd in attendance.

Gaithersburg is where it all started for Sugarloaf in 1976! People here love fine art and quality crafts and show it by buying. Sugarloaf Craft Festivals are voted in the Top-50 Craft Shows by Sunshine Artist Magazine.

Show Hours: Friday & Saturday: 10am – 6pm, Sunday: 10am – 5pm
Public Admission Tickets: $10 adults, children free

  • 1 booth image required – applications submitted without a booth image will not be accepted. A 3-sided, professional looking booth display is required for all exhibitors (corners may be exception).
  • $20 application fee (non-refundable)
  • Jury results will be sent by e-mail within 2 weeks of application (you will receive notification from Sugarloaf directly, not through Zapp)
